Also, for a set that is "discontinued", there sure seem to be a lot of Dwarf Mines at the Lego stores.

Chris
well let me enlighten some people then:

1:the Dwarf Mine restock is easy to explain,LEGO had a stock held back for Christmas rush

2:the smaller sets on LEGO are back ordered till who knows when, how many times has LEGO back ordered sets and have them discontinued while still Back Ordered?

3:in the last LEGO Catalog how many of those sets were in it?(not counting Mine)

as it goes right now LEGO is going thru what you would call a Blitz sales strategy, sell a bunch of sets then move onto the next design of the series,so the sets don't go stale on the market place, you might have noticed that LEGO has also reduced the chess set with the Skeleton guys.

Actually Rick, only one of the small sets is currently on backorder - the crossbow set. All the others are 'available now'. And when I ordered my Skeleton Carriage set, it said backordered till Febuary, but it arrived at my house yesterday. These sets have cycled at least three times now from available to backordered to available again, and I'm sure they'll go through the cycle a few more times before they go away.

Try again.

Trust the Force Young Padawan and keep an eye on LEGO's clearances right after or just before the new Catalog comes out here soon

Because for all I know you're just making things up and everyone thinks you're near the source or something.

Some people just guess and tell things as being the truth.
Being an Afol for some years, I also can make these guesses.

I lift a Corona in hopes that it will be back, but I will find out in time if it will be or not.

As an aside, I was reading the TOS page and thought I would point out one of the lines in the "Classic-Castle.com Etiquette Rules"; this may be interesting to those that are posting in this thread before it is locked as well:

"Don't be snappy or a know it all. People don't appreciate such an attitude and it leads to a cold-feeling forum."

I'm quite sure he makes it all up. For as long as I've been on CC I haven't seen a single tip he gave that was actually true... So far...
We'll see what the Dwarf Mine does (even though it hasn't even hit the stores here yet), and what the small sets do (even though they're still very available here).
Between plotting to kill you all and chasing balls of yarn, I also build MOCs

hmm says call to check availability so in other words someone who had a big order had their Credit card declined or they found a small batch of them in the warehouse.

pure conjecture here is not even a sentence
"Old Wizards never die, nor fade away. They just kind of operate behind the scenes and in the shadows... doing all of their weird and wonderful Wizardy things and whatnot."

actually around here i'm noticing the small sets and their shelf space starting to vanish from stores, mainly in Target, but that doesn't mean a thing, but when the sets vanished out of the LEGO Catalog that always portends an imminent doom for them

IT doesn't have to mean that. Perhaps they were just squeezed for space and wanted to display the bigger, more expensive sets instead.

actually the Dwarf Mine and the sets removed from LEGO's Catalog are the only tips i've given here, ask anybody who has heard my tips on BL's Chat room they will say i'm always dead on,i predicted the SW troop builder sets and even the Hoth Battle Set a year before they were even known about and they came out when i said they would, also i've made predictions on the Castle lines and such which came true.

Rick

#1. There is an edit button so you don't have to post more than once. Use it.

#2. Just because a set isn't in the dealer catalog doesn't mean it won't be available. Dealer catalogs do not a S@H make. Dealer catalogs list the sets that will be available to those who receive them. NOT what will be sold in the future everywhere. Many dealer catalogs are region specific.

#3. There were a lot of sets not in the Christmas S@H catalog that are still on sale and going strong. Doesn't mean anything.

#4. You don't work for LEGO, stop acting like you do.
