Well, I can see that the forum members are gracious as ever, these days. :) thanks for the comments.
To answer lil Jon’s question: I got my blue wings from Bricklink (of course), but as far as rarity goes… I think they were mostly sold in the Incan Johny Thunder sets.
Best wishes to anyone looking to build their own. It’s a pretty straight forward build, though the wings are a bit tricky and won’t attach unless you angle them up a little.
