I guess Lego tried to revive the great forestmen's set with this serie in 1996. This is the best serie they done in this year, but that's only a shadow of what was forestmen.

The pieces in this set are useful, but the design isn't famous. This is the same for others of this series.

But this small one is not a bad one.

I buyed this set when it was release. I was happy they remade something interesting. I was a lot deceived since some years with Lego.

It's not a fantastic set, but not an ugly one, I think.

7.5/10

Excellent point! TLC, pay attention: you did a remake of a popular series once before, and it worked. Why not try it again? :D

I think it's one of the best small sets out there, especially if you like forestmen.

Careful what you say. They're remaking Knights Kingdom too, don't forget.

Don't be ridiculous, Snoopy, they may have the same name, and equally annoying kings, and equally just as crazy baddies, and equally poor set design, but the KK2s are twice as ugly, and they have suits of armour, whereas the KK1s didn't. That's a major difference, and don't anyone forget it. :P

I really like it. It has great figs, and decent treasure. For the price, it seems like a good buy.

For such a small set, it has two good minifigs, good acessories, and a chest! To me it looks like a fine little set.
Then: 7
Now: 9 (The only downfall is the LURP)

Nice set!

It's a great pack for parts, and figs especially - I'd actually say the Dark Forest figs were superior to the Forestmen, just for being more detailed and realistic. The design is rather sub-par, but it's still a clever idea.

8/10

I snagged one of these a couple years ago for a good price, and it was worth it for the parts. I mainly bought it for the minifigues, but there a other useful parts included such as the tree pieces and the green plate. Overall this is a pretty good set, and I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10.

Grapeshot...

I always liked this set and wish I had more than 1. It adds a nice variety to the forestmen torsos, is well priced, an comes with very useful plant/scenery building pieces and colours. What more can I say?

God Bless,

Nathan

My only Dark Forest set. It's a nice little set, but, unfortunately, I took it apart for some reason. i still have the characters and the catapult ammo, but everything else is part of my LEGO pile. I have to find those pieces, as this is as perfect add on or starter set for a forest scene. The rock piece and foliage are my favourite features.

Not to bad, not to bad...

The design isn't the best, but for parts its more than alright.

I dunno how well a stationary catapult would work in an ambush, especially in a dense forest, but the rest seems to work rather well, as a little camping spot, or outpost for our forest friends.

I like it alot and wish I would have picked up more of them when they were out.

Grapeshot? Those rocks are as big as a minifig's head! :)

This was a great set, I wish I had a few.

This isn't my favorite forestmen set, but I still like it. What I wouldn't give to be able to get a forestmen set today for under $10.
The design isn't that great, but the figures are. And it's nice to get some greenery and black tree branch arches. I'd buy several if they were on store shelves today.
