I just have to sat that this thing is HUGE! I bet I couldn't even build the bottom part of one of the towers with my grey bricks.

This is very cool..... I can't wait to see the whole Castle! It's going to be massive! I wish I had enough bricks to make something of this size!
My only complaint is the path...... needs more variety of color.....
Very impressive, a nice traditional castle. I like the you have decided to build it in sections. Its a good scale with lots of room for detail and minifig action. I look forward to seeing the complete model. Well done
Wow! That's incredible! I can't even dream up a moc that big, much less build one. (and not just for a lack of bricks) I admire your dedication- this must have taken forever. I can't wait to see the finished castle!
Honestly, if you are able to pull this together your castle will easily be the biggest LEGO castle built on these forums. Given the large area, I can't help but wonder if you intednt to build an inner ring to the castle. Perhaps you could build a large village on the interior similar to Carcassonne in France. Right now, this is a project that reminds me very much of some of the huge battleships we've seen on Brickshelf.
I appreciate all the great feedback I got on this gatehouse! I'm really excited to build the next section of the castle, which entails a section of wall with a tower, the stables, Inn/tavern, blacksmith, and apothecary. I'll post pics of it when it's finished! I'm almost done with the planning phase, so I'll be able to start building it any day. The biggest challenge for me is the landscaping elevation changes that I will try to incorporate into the castle.
WOW! I like it. I especially like your grey statue above the gate and the doors themselves. You said you're finishing planning the next phase. Do you come up with an overall design and then start, or just design one section at a time?
Wow that is insane. It looks great. I love the many different windows you have done. I do not think I have the pieces or the talent for something of this scale...

That was my first thought while looking at this giant. Would love to attempt something on this scale, but I wouldnt have enough grey elements to do a quarter of that gatehouse.
What more can I say? That would be sooo much fun for my trolls to lay siege to! If TLC made sets even half as great as this, I would have no money left...
To those who are about to Lego: toss me a few bricks.
I'm glad everyone seems to like the gatehouse. I recently posted pics of the next section of this castle under a post called "Medieval Village/Modular castle section" viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17480#p199309
The final size of the castle will be about 5'x7'. In fact my buyer just requested that I make the keep even larger than originally planned because he wants it to tower over the gatehouse!
