I have written it in all above ways without much care in the past. I found it even more interesting on their official policy page if LEGO is used as a part of a noun it should be accompanied by a noun and never be used on its own. i.e LEGO set, LEGO products, LEGO bricks, LEGO Group. I have been schooled again on this site.

Since I haven't been following company policy... are they gonna take away my VIP card?

From now on it is the straight and narrow for me and my LEGO forum postings. :halo:
I usually follow their policy, but sometimes I write it as Shirley.
On the last page of the LEGO Groups official policy statement it says "and by the way don't call me Shirley."
Kudos Sir Nelson, you gotta love a good "airplane" reference now and then...

It's kind of annoying to me now, but my habit is to write "LEGO" or TLG. These are the "proper" ways to write the name, as far as I understand.

It's annoying because you have to hit the shift key and I tend to be a lazy typer. :)
Knight Templar
n. pl. Knights Templars or Knights Templar
1.A member of an order of knights founded about 1118 to protect pilgrims in the Holy Land during the Second Crusade.

I have written it all those ways and used them in verbal form as well. What form I use depends on whom I might be talking to.

Wait a sec, how to you say "LEGO" in the verbal form?

Is it:

LE GO
LAY GO
LEI GO
LEG GO
LEY GO
LAI GO
or
LEYG OH
LAYG OH
LEGG OHH
or
SHIRLEY ?

 (with apologies, Josh)

Hello!

Actually the proper form to say "LEGO" in the verbal form would be saying "L - E - G - O". ;-)
Like you would say ISS as "I - S - S" rather than "iss".
(And that's one reason why I write "Lego".)

That had never occurred to me, but yes, when you think about it, LEGO is actually an acronym. Leg Godt, I believe. So really, when all is said and done, the technically correct way to say it would be L - E - G - O.

So from now on everyone, I expect you to type it L.E.G.O. and say each letter separately. Those who don't will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
