So...Will 2005 be "Year of the Castle?"
no, its the year of the rooster! :D
the merfolk looks cool 8) , the bionicle is a piece of crap, the ship is strange, and the vikings look worse than they did in the begining. :x this bad stuff is so sad

The difference between your post and blueandwhite's post is that he provides reasons as to why he doesn't like the Viking sets, whereas your post has added little (besides "The Vikings sets suck!") to the discussion.

With that said, from the pictures, it's still unclear as to how far down the development phase the sets are at. Maybe we will see beards? Some parts still appear to be "filler".

Overall, I think the set designs are an improvement over the past few years, but unfortunately I won't be buying much (if any at all) because of the new colours. Like blueandwhite, my collection IS heavily concentrated on grey (including a substantial amount of brown) so I have no plans to start collecting anew.

I'm not bashing anything. I am merely stating some of the things I like or dislike (beyond the inflammatory "This SUCKS"). I'm not all that fond of juniorized elements as they are too specialized, and aren't very practical when building alternate models.

Again these are only my opinions. I would ask you to refrain from putting me down for having them.
Its easy to simply insult something without giving any reasons as to why you dislike it. I think your post was very detailed and well thought. I'd just as soon have people not post at all rather than simply post "it sucks", which adds nothing at all too the topic at hand. I also agree that it seems you got a cheap shot taken at you for no real reason.

As for the new sets:

I like the Vikings fortress and the smaller boat, and plan on picking them up. The larger ship was a let down, but it might look better in person. The purchase of it will have to be a judgement call however.

KKII: I simply have no interest in these sets due to the unfinished nature they seem to possess as well as the cartoonish minifigs. That said, I do think that this year's sets are an improvement. They just aren't my cup of tea.

Harry Potter: I actually like the Harry Potter ship. I think it has a very unique look to it and, in my opinion, it seems like a "castle" ship. By this I mean that the Pirate ships look like pirate ships, even the black seas's barracuda. However, with some slight modifications, I can just see my black knights or black falcon's searching for new lands on this ship. The powder blue will have to go (especially those baskets on the masts), but on the whole I do like this set. The others aren't up my alley.
