I voted other, because there is usually an alliance of Black Knights, Dragon Masters, Fright Knights....and now a few Shadowknights and Vladeks, along with the Black Falcons who are against the crusaders and Royal knights. The balance of power lies with the Forestmen/DarkForestmen and the Wolfpack, who ally with the Crusaders and Royal knights against the tyranny of the aforementioned forces. However my "bad guy" alliance is too large now and I will have to realign things in the near future. Black Falcons will probably turn good

Scorpions. They just look soo evil- though I just let them be the pawns of the allways conspiring bat lords.
Wolfpacks are simple rouges and thugs- Ive given them the role of "enlightened" rouges now serving as an elite group under the command of the bulls- since Cedric is dead their leader is replaced with a hearty bull king.
*as it seems from books* Black Knights are simply a faction of raiding knights and pillagers- While having knightly culture, they conquer the land and burn anythings that comes in contact with their forces. Evil? Perhaps, but theyre not really evil enough. Just greedy. Dragon Masters are kind of neutral- they attack Leo but defend their treasury against wolves and black knights.
The lion knights (aka crusaders) and royal knights etc. Looks friendly, but they dont need to be. I use them as a friendly kingdom unfortunate to be attacked by hordes of Morcians. Mathias is liked by his people but hes little of a propaganda machine!
Black Falcons- I only got three of these guys. Just a neutral faction- neither evil or good. They just rock.
Classic Knights, I love these guys! The knights accompanied by squires are good as freelancing knights, while the real factions "blue", crown soldiers, triple(?) are good as neutral dudes.
Forestmen- They look like Robin Hood. Their heraldry looks good guyish... Can still be used as bandits.

Off-Topic: Why do people think the Black Knights are evil? In the catalogs, they were said to be a powerful faction who opposed the Dragon Masters, who were almost certainly evil.
In my Castle history, Majisto and the Dragon Masters are the main foes, along with Vladek and the Shadow Knights. Factions like the Bulls and Dark Forest were also evil, but to a lesser extent. It's like the difference between a burglar and a terrorist. As for the Wolfpack, initially they were thieves and outlaws, but eventually settled down as good guys.

Actually that villain Kahilawayan sub-faction is made up of orange minifigs. I use the Harry Potter Basilisk shields and two daggers as fangs as their emblem.
They're called the "Mangatiwala", translated from my language (Tagalog/Filipino) it means "believers". So they're kinda fanatic group who believes in the fact that the Kahilwayans are the most advanced civilization, its their right to dominate all and destroy anyone who dares challenge them.
There's three Kahilawayan groups:
-Kaharian (the empire) who are good guys, largest and most powerful of the 3, but tend to mind their own business to the point that anyone who enters their territory via land or sea, never returns
-Mangatiwala (the believers), villains going round the world to dominate the lesser nations
-Bagolupang (new homeland), who are basically explorers and settlers; they're also good guys and is the one confronting the Mangatiwala the most

I normally just use my own band called the Vanirian Rebellion. I combine the Fright and Shadow Knights with some peasants who are sick of oppression. My peasants are good-hearted simple folk, but the knights deceive them into thinking they've been oppressed and overtaxed. It's loads of fun. And Sava, I must say your undead battle is the coolest I've seen.

Probably because they are "Black Knight's" and they were the first to have a sinister looking black castle when the other factions had grey.Sir Kohran wrote:Off-Topic: Why do people think the Black Knights are evil?
I always considered them badguys until recently. Now they are just another faction in my kingdom which consists of no "evil" factions, but just groups with different intents.
My Black Knight's are explorers and more militeristic. The Lion Knight's are the most civilized and cultured and harbor my kingdom's only town, and whenever I finally get enough Black Falcon's to make them a serious contender, they will simply be a smaller kingdom with no intentions other than ruling themselves.
Forestmen are the jolly bandits who live in the woods and are outlaws because they don't agree with the Lion Knight's monarch, and the Wolfpack are the more rougish and simply like to steal.
Dragon Masters have been phased out completely for the time being, as have the Royal Knight's (who I hope to bring back into the picture soon enough).

I prefer the black falcons. They are the schemers of my kingdom. Never outright attack, but wait until you are at your weakest before striking. Always let others do the dirty work.
Dragon Masters and Fright Knights are just the minions of the evil forces.
I am also hoping to get a bunch of bulls to make a rampaging horde, to ravage the land.

Kohran: As stated before, black castle, "Black Monarch", the color black is on a barding, etc. They do fight Forestmen and in a commercial, storms the fire breathing fortress- the leader knight also has a dark voice in that old tape.
In my stories Dragon Masters are a little more neutral and only attacks those who attack them, but can storm a castle if they are feeling superior. Majisto isnt an evil necromancer (notice that skeletons was never used by him) but more of a half-evil, half-good sorceror, who can raise the spirits of his beloved ones to speak with him(as near necromancy as he can get). Black Knights are very imperial- they fight to the death for their master (black monarch) or masters (black knights) but still, they pillage villages and take things for themselves- as long as their masters doesnt dissaprove. This is to keep the army satisfied with what they do. Work is done by slaves. Since a new Black Monarch has been chosen and Majisto has returned- the both armies has united, leaving the slavery behind, but looting is still accepted. Dragon Masters serve mainly as guards, however.
The Scorpions also uses troops from the land of Shadowkra (formely known as the land of the Fright Knights) as recruits- while not evil, they have high discipline and works as flawless myrmidons. Shadow Knights are still used, but the rage the magics infuse makes them act soullessly and rages into the enemy without thinking. Therefore, real troops are better and high disciple and fanatical devotion to their master, The Sorceror(I really need to know if lego is gonna release him as a minifig).

Suprising results for me... It seems that "My custom faction" got first place by one vote, over the Dragon Masters and Scorpians.
I do think the Scorpians are cool, but I wasn't sure if they were really as popular as they seem to be, or just spoken about because they were so new.
Second is Dragon Masters, and I really never would have guessed that. I wonder why they are so popular?
Interesting results though, thanks to those who took part... I wonder if another poll about "the best good-guys" is in order?
Or maybe not... good guys tend to be a little less interesting than villans for some reason.

Well, if you think about it, the evils done in the world are more widely talked about (unless you watch Fox Newsottoatm wrote:good guys tend to be a little less interesting than villans for some reason.

If the Fright Knights weren't named that and their sets weren't.. silly with flying machines, then I'd have to say they made up some very cool villians. Dark lords with helms of bats, their whole style was very.. Halloweeny, which I personally liked (although yes.. sets were horrid and that witch.. UGH).
In my own way of merging LEGO, I've had KK2 be a far distant land. On the main continent the forces of Dragon Masters and Fright Knights were defeated by an alliance of Black Falcon/Black Knights (I never had many Lion knights).
So the leaders of both factions found their way to Vladrek, who used Majisto's dragons to bulk his army. The Bat Lord seeks to reclaim his forces, but sits as the right hand to Vladrek. (Made Bat Lord somewhat... a very powerful swordsman.)
Course... my favorite all time Villians... custom. Not really villians, but a monster faction. Trolls, Orcs, Ogre (Chewbacca hehe) and Tauren (still thankful for that Minotaur idea).
