I think it's a magazine that's similar to the regular Lego magazine, but it is longer and you have to pay for it. Also, it's exclusive to the USA and Canada. *longing sigh*The Hordesman wrote:Excuse my stupidity but... What is brickmaster?HenrytheV wrote:My brother just got all those sets today from Brickmaster. I found the catapult poly bag (Set 5994) at Walmart the other day, so I thought I'd share some pics and info.

It cost $0.97 US + tax. At Bricklink average prices, it parts out at about $3.50 US.
The red-brown wheels are unique to this set, as is the red-brown pin joiner (catapult crank). So as far as parts go, I'd say it well worth the price. (10 pts)
Payability wise, its not bad. My 6 year old son can lob the round bricks about 0.5 meters, and clear a 15 brick high wall. It also roles nicely. (8 pts)
Design, though is not to good. It's to small to be a believable catapult. (6 pts)
Overall, I'd score it as an 8.

A couple slight corrections to the parts assesment (Peeron hasn't updated with this year's Castle stuff). The red-brown wheel is available x1 in the Viking longboat, and the red-brown crank is available in both Scorpion Prison Cage and Vladek's Dark Fortress (x1 in both). Still, that's a great value for the parts you get.

Sounds like a cool little set. Have to keep my eye out.
8873 Fireball Catapult (2 wheels)
8874 Battle Wagon (4 wheels and an awesome set, I should review it)
8875 King's Seige Tower (4 wheels)
8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress (4 wheels)

And I have to offer a further parts correction. The red brown wheel also comes in four other sets in the 2nd KK2 line. Here is the list:Bloody Jay wrote:A couple slight corrections to the parts assesment (Peeron hasn't updated with this year's Castle stuff).

I picked up the catapult set at my Wal*Mart a couple of days ago. I was going to post pics, but I've been really busy since then. The set itself isn't that great: the only reason I got it was for the wheels and horse cover. But it's really great to see Lego sets for under $1 again. I *LOVE* that, no matter how cheesy the set is. I'll probably buy more, just because they're so cheap.
And if I'm not mistaken, this is the same set that Mike found in the Easter baskets.
They also had a small Racer polybag set that I picked up. Again, pretty decent for $0.97.

What's this? I never heard about that.Azaghal wrote:I wonder if that would explain those green old-style helms that surfaced a few months ago...Jojo wrote:And I have been expecting another KK2 polybag like the Vladek one. I wonder if the numbers 5995, 5996 and 5997 will be filled with Santis, Danju and Rascus?
And it'd be interesting to see all the different castles... green, red, blue, and purple!

Nothing of great note, but certainly a decent buy for $0.97. I found another, different Racer polybag set today, and got it as well. I'll post pix of both tomorrow. I'm hoping that since they obviously restocked the polybags since I got the first 2, that the other 2 KK2 bags will show up as well. I can't wait to get my hands on those army builders. Blue helmets though....why'd they have to be blue?!Bloody Jay wrote:What was in the Racer polybag? Anything particularly interesting?
