I am also very willing to take them off anyone's hands. In fact, anything LEGO Viking related that anyone doesn't want (including Bionicle parts), I'm willing take!Bloody Jay wrote:Oh, a little addendum: if anyone DOESN'T want their shield stickers, or knows that they won't want them once they get their Viking sets, drop me a line. I'd be perfectly happy to take them off your hands.

No, I wasn't really being sarcastic. Maybe a be hyperbolic... but not sarcastic.
They are still very good sets, from what I've seen anyway... Its just they didn't live up to their full potential, or maybe the hopes I'd set for them after seeing the prototype pictures.
What I don't like about the stickers, is I've never once been able to get them on straight. And they don't hold up as well as printing. I do love the designs on the shields, but just wish they were printed.

I think you answered your own question regarding why people are complaining. It's like telling someone you're giving them a car, and then taking the tires off and scratching the paint. It's still a car, but why would you make it tacky when you're perfectly capable of giving them a nice car?Formendacil wrote: It's a pity, really, that the prototype pics were ever released. If all we had ever seen was the actual set, we would have been wowed out of our minds. Instead we have whining and complaining.
Good analogy... or perhaps even better: telling someone you are going to give them a Mercedes, but then showing up with a Honda.
Honda is still a good car, but its sure not a Mercedes

So very true. But those prototype pics were pretty close to promising Mercedes quality... Oh well maybe they'll upgrade to a Mercedes for the next release.Yeah, but either one beats the moped we been peddlin around now don't it?
I wonder how they decide on what to sticker and what to print? There doesn't seem to be any consistency along those lines at all.
