Thanks for the replies, everyone! About the chimney: I knew that Viking houses didn't have them, but I was unable to come up with a satisfying "smoke hole" for the roof, so I opted for the chimney.
If I am able to make it to Brickfest '06, expect a version of this house to be on display there!
EDIT:
I got mine from the Graveyard set.
That piece helps secure two technic axles embedded in the wall. The wall is removable, and the axles hold it in place. Also, it helps serve as a handle when I want to pull the wall out. On that note, the removable wall function is pretty much defeated buy the roof overhang. You have to pull off the roof to be able to pull out the wall. Oh well.TheBohrok wrote:Also, I was wondering what the purpose of these technic pieces was. It looks interesting. Great job!

Looks great! I like the details inside, and outside. I also love the bley. Is the brown the new reddish-brown?

Glad you like it! The model includes both old brown and redbrown. The log bricks and a few other pieces are redbrown, while the tiles and everything else is old brown. Isn't it amazing how one can't really tell the difference?Sir Terrance wrote:Looks great! I like the details inside, and outside. I also love the bley. Is the brown the new reddish-brown?
One that note, this MOC also contains both light and dark bley, AND old and light gray! See the "new" and "old" colors can be used in harmony!
