Flail? really? i know some medieval weapons that were mace like were called a flail but i think it's a pretty fine like between them.

Damien is correct. A mace is usually a heavy object (spiked ball, flanges, etc.) attached to a handle of some sort. A flail is a heavy object (usually a ball, spiked or not) attached to a handle by a chain or some such thing. Flails can have multiple chains, such as yours...

A mace is glorified club. Except a club usually doesn't have any metal bits added to the end. A mace usually does, but there are always exception. You will find many exceptions and oddities in the realm of weapon names...that is why I have been using the word "usually".

Ball and Chain: Everything that is not a flail or morningstar, usually a metal ball attached with chain to a handle without spikes.

Flail: Some flails got long rectangular metal edges attached to a handle & chain, while others consisted of many spiked balls, like this one.

Morningstar: The classic ball & chain with spikes.

Mace: Handle and metal end, such as the Flanged Mace.

Cudgel: Large club bound with metal(though, other methods has been used).

Baculus: Huge wooden club, even though its size some pictures shows it wielded in one hand.

There are more but Im lazy right now, and its too much info than needed right now...

King Richard and the Crusaders: What can I say? Rex Harrison as Saladin. Yes, I believe in medieval torture: I watch horrid costume melodramas from the fifties like this one.

As to fig. Love it. I might want to see a little cleaner craftsmanship, but other than that, it's a nice fig. The double flail is the first I've seen - given the proportions of the pieces, it worked out better than I thought it might. Interesting that you turned the mail sideways to give it a separate camail look (and a great choice in the mail pattern might I add ).

Did you try the belt/hips as the same color as the legs? It might give it a bit more of a long surcoat over mail leggings look.

I wanted to imply a red belt with the red hips but maybe it didnt look right. yes and another terrrible thing is that all your guys suggestions are great but i do not have the minifig any more nor the printed decals . i had to get rid of him and use his parts for other thing such as his crown for the next lego movie i am doing of GOOD KING WENCESLAS, for you any of you who dont know the song it is an old folk song/Christmas carol. Yeah thanks TwoTonic fo r the mail design, im sure every one has used it to no end.

I actually throughly enjoyed king richard and the crusades , it's just so cool

I took really crummy photos he looked tons better in real life, but i do admit my stickering skills (Putting them on that is, i think im okay at designing) arent quite so good

i used the little armoy weapons and just sorto customized them. with the sword i cut the 2 spikes coming off and just painted it. with the flail i cut the ball from the stiff chain and glued it to the handle and the ball
