I've wanted this set since I first saw it. The style is a bit reminiscant of older LEGO and the colors work very well. I have still yet to find it for a reasonable proce, but when I do be assured I'll take that opportunity.
It looks to have great playability and decent parts, deffinately one on my to get list.

This is one of my favorite sets. The fireworks/rockets were a nice touch. I'm not real fond of the dragon or the baseplate, but other than that this set is excellent. The figures are wonderful, two guards, emperor, jing-lee and the ghost thing...
9.8/10 (minus .1 points each for the dragon and the baseplate)

Price in store for this set
I'm digging this out for I saw one in a store in my area.
This set has lots of usefull parts, many black slopes, old gray bricks, two rounded doors in black and two rectangle barn/gate doors, old brown logs, brown technic pulleys, the raised baseplate, and so more. Figs won't be more than 50% useful to me, and this will be for parts, I won't have time to play the board game.
It was 100€ on the shelves, and I told the saleswoman this set is old and doesn't sell because of the price, she called her boss who said she can't sell for less than 80€ (read 76, I have 5% off there), it still sounds pretty expensive to me, I wished for 60€. The real problem is that with the current two bigger Kingdoms sets and the forthcoming four later this year, I'm already gonna quite smash the anticipated budjet, so with 75€ more...

Re: Related Theme Set Review: Dragon Fortress
I do not have this set but I am trying to add it to my collection because of the unique features (dragon, special grey knight, etc) to add to my fantasy collection.

This is a great set especially if your interested in playability. The only feature that doesn't work well is the trap door, when it swings down the minifig standing under it gets smacked in the side of the head instead of getting the rock dumped on him

I'm so frustrated for the "battle at the pass" passing by I did some times ago that I did not delay any decision.
After speaking about it to my GF, I went back to the store the week after, and got the set.
I will be able to get some of the current sets little later, after all.
It is so nice, the gray knight is a good source for a statue in mocs. I like the creneled bars and gears, they will probably be very useful in mocs.
My two year kid enjoyed playing with the minis and the car (Citroën-Kegresse?) while I built the temple, when finished, I showed him, he said "Wow!". Then, I built the basement, while he was playing with the temple and minis, and when I put the temple on the basement, he said "Wow, Beau" (Beautiful).
I improved the trap to get it at the floor level, with just a round 1 plate under it for the little pin to support it. also, it could be more aestetic to let the trap nude just to make the one on the floor fall under.
The problem now, is I want to get the other sets of the series, to expand the board game, in case one day I want to play with it.
