Wow, this is one of the best MOCs I've ever seen.
The amount of detail you have packed in is just amazing, I can only imagine how many bricks that thing has.
Every inch of it is just awesome, I really like the waterfall, the steps, the huge tree (I've always wanted to make a huge tree, but I just don't have enoughtree parts.)

Very, very well done. :)

Hey Nathan,

Great MOC. Will this be a CCC entry?

Thanks all for your kind comments, all appreciated! I had a lot of fun building this so it is good to see others enjoy the pics. Any specific Qs I'll try to deal with as well.

No, it was designed for my new MOCtale series so won't be straying into the CCC (although it has a bridge ; ) . So feel free to comment without fear of bias...You have to be able to somewhere : )

Oh and thanks Josh for blogging it, much appreciated, I'm still flattered by the entry!

God Bless,

Nathan

So this is just a beginning...?

Does that mean any more awesome MOCs coming soon? ;)

I saw this first on TBB this morning, and keep going back to the Brickshelf folder to look at it again and again. Each time I discover new, wonderful details.

I think my favorite scenes (there are so many!) are the treasure room and the tavern interior. The landscaping is great, of course, but the all the texturing on the tavern's exterior makes it really interesting.

And there's more? Can't wait. :D

A superb creation. I've often thought of making caves simelar to this, but this whole thing puts them absolutley to shame. I love the "organic" feel to the "wooden" building parts, how everything isn't straight. Even the broken table is great!!!

Not that I've never thought of you as a good builder before, but this solidifies the fact that you are!!!

Good, it's tough not to be able to comment on all the great MOCs that have been posted this month. This is an outstanding creation! It's a great mix of the exterior landscaping, the house's interior, and that cavern. Some favorite details:
The way you did the water as in this pic, using a mix of tiles and studs showing makes it look as if it was flowing and ripply.
Those long stairs going up the cliff face. I'd like to see a better close-up picture of how you did the turn, if possible.
The rickety SNOT bridge. How sturdy is that, anyway?
The massive tree. I particularly like how the roots are hanging down the cliff.
The broken table. Very clever design solution there.
The cavern. I particularly like the monochromaticity.
The treasure room. The little splashes of color within all that gray really stand out. Nice design on the stone cart, too.

Wow. This level of detail leaves me completley speechless. This MOC is just absoloutley gorgeous. Must have taken a long time and a lot of pieces. I like the buried skeleton in picture W. It's worth saying again, the level of detail is incredible, I'll never be able to build one that good.

I'll take a look through the spare pics, I think there was one which was too blurry...

It is supposed to look rickety, but believe it or not it is actually very stable, it is connected to the model at five points and holds up well. The railings are a little more flimsy as they can't be connected to each other...

Slap in a classic-style background, and I'd swear you ripped off a Takeshi Itou creation! :D

Great work, Nathan. I agree with all of Bruce's points. I think your creations have improved a lot over time!

Absolutely beautiful!

I don't even know where to begin... the uneven staircase is amazing, great sculpting on the cliff and mountain. The cross section of the mine is awesome too!

One question, what brown piece is sticking out here on the side of the building?
