Don't know if this has been asked before, but does anyone know how many pieces are in the new sets?

Unless someone bent over the ToyFair displays to count I doubt it  After all the sets might still be prototypes and unless lego releases the info. I don't think anyone will no. Of course at that time lego will probably release the set photos with them so we'll all be to busy drooling/disappointed to care!

Yes, I am insane. :D

The dark blue barding looks amazing. The royal blue one I will use to make a Black Flacon barding. I have made a own decal for it.

Black Falcon-izing anything makes it a lot better, so you're not insane at all.

And I think you've hit the nail on the head. It's not worth it to me to have stilty towers and massive amounts of BURPS just to get a monster with every set. I like your separate monster set idea. I'd much rather get something like a Buckbeak or old style dragon with the big set, and have one set with a major brick-built beastie, maybe one smaller set with a little b-b b.
sorry i'm late responding, but this is a great idea. ever since the buckbeak mold came out i've been crossing my fingers that they might even expand his basic shape into things like griffins and other beasts (pegasus seems a logical jump, and heck, they could even do things like winged lions or something). i love the idea of a separate dragon set, and while a knight/princess would be great, i don't think i, personally, atl east, would have any qualms about spending a good deal of money on a very well done dragon even if the set had nothing but him. that way people who don't want to spend extra money/have pieces taken away from the castle because they don't care for dragons would be happy, while dragon fanatics like myself would be thrilled to have a set devoted to a good one.

edit: i just spent some time looking at the toy fair pics again and am pretty sure neither of these points has been mentioned. i don't like the way that scythe blade looks when held by a normal skeleton as a scimitar - the clip to put it on the scythe throws everything off, looks cheap and lazy to me. it'll be sort of annoying to have to go out and buy separate swords for those guys/poles to put the blades on to give them the proper scythes. also, the king, assuming he's the chap standing in the main tower of the castle, looks to me like his euro armor is not only shiny gold, but printed as well.

Ahahaha! At last! A castle theme with no purple warriors!
Not that, as I've said before, I mind KK2, but this will be awesome, especially those skelly horses. Gotta get some when they come out (unless thaey're a TOYS 'R' US EXCLUSIVE!!! )
Judging by those galleries, 2007 will be a bright year.

Hay, I think you're right. This is great. I was planning on sending a few Euro armors to a private chroming company to be made gold like this, but now I won't have to. Yes!

I actually didn't mind purple. It wasn't as bad as that blue and red, but the green one was okay too...Still, this is a great improvment from kk.

I can't believe I didn't see this before...
Pretty nice, though I miss Rascus  but at least I have nice skeletal horses to console me and be my friends. Anyway, this looks like a good year, the SW stuff is cool, they brought back Mars, Aqua Raiders, and Castle looks nice.

Don't know if this'd been posted yet, but I came across a couple close-up shots of the new line's female captive fig: one two. Looks like a new hairpiece and torso design-- both are brilliant. :P

 That is awesome! I had expected a new torso design, but not a face, dress, and hair piece! The hair piece is wonderful, and is very fitting. The head seems as if it would be reversable(scared for in the cage, and happy for after her rescue), but I could be wrong. Thank you for the find M19.

I saw that to, it looks pretty darn cool, and a definite buy.

Does anyone have any more shots of this? Its my favorite preview set so far and I would like to build a custom one before TLG releases it.

Dang it!

That new female fig is too nice. A great torso print and a new hair piece too! It is all but guaranteed to go for an arm and a leg on bricklink  . These new pics also reveal the printing on the Knight's breastplate (disappointing), and give us a final indication of what the new soldier torsos will look like.

All in all, these minifigs look great. An expensive year.

Awesome princess!!! Ilove that new hairpeice, and torso/dress. I don't like the face, doesn't suit this fig, but it's still cool. I really like those soldier torsos as well, like the vikings, but they have thier faction details. :) Can't wait for the release (My wallet is cringing though :) ).
