The Return of Castle in 2007 (?)
I did not see anything in the catalog for the first part of 2007 on the Castle theme yet, only the old Kingdom's junk. So it must be the second half of 2007 when it comes.
Crazy.. i was crazy once.. once they put me in a round room with a dot in the corner i liked that dot i counted that dot... one.. one..one..one ..it drove me crazy!! Crazy?!? I was crazy once!!
Great Start to 2007
If this is real way to go lego! I haven't collected since the "Dragon Hunters" was the name of the theme I believe. I didnt think much of the stuff since was very good for the castle themes (not to mention a complete lack of a pirate theme as far as I am aware). The "bulls" castle theme looked cool but seemed very short lived...
The Skeleton theme is...interesting...wouldn't have been my first choice but it has potential. The skeletal coach is neat. I'm not sure what the black figures are though....
I've always wondered why they didn't do a historic theme myself...but this is cool.
Castle looks significantly better than the more recent casltes, still some of the back towers are simply "stilts" to take up more space with less bricks.
I personally don't like the design of the skull...thing the wizard is on but it is interesting.
Classic swords, shield, helmets back big plus! Metalic color actually looks decent.
Flail and scimitar look coo, nice that they are adding some new weapons.
The lack of shields on the soldiers bothers me though...
Overall I'd say very good. They *should* be able to take this idea a long way.

i also bought kk2 because i liked several of the sets, and because i'm not as into the classic stuff to the point i want to spend my money on overpriced used sets on bricklink.Being that I am the only AFOL who bought KK2 EVER and I did in fact like them, I really have no problem buying ANY lego Castle.
the dragon actually looks better on the box for the skull fortress thing than it does on the box for the larger castle, and i can't figure out why. being of the opinion that the vikings beasts were a huge success i'd be a little upset if they changed it and over relied on those duplo looking molded pieces, but i'm liking it the more i look at it. the only thing besides that i'd like to see changed once they reach the final stage are the torsos (viking torsos are fine to a small extent but i'd like some new ones too). besides that everything looks fantastic.
edit: speaking of the vikings, if i had to guess i'd say that lego modeled these sets off of the vikings in response to that line's overwhelming popularity.
79% of Classic Castle hates KK2. If you're one of the 20% that loves it, paste this into your sig. Started by Danju.

I'm happy because 7090 is basically a minifig pack -- two human soldiers and an undead soldier on a horse. Probably a $7.99 or $9.99 set. Excellent.

Hey all,
I don't actually read this forum as often, so I hadn't read this thread until now. all I can say is Wow!. I've spent the last 30 minutes reading through this thread and looking at pics and it all looks really great. Flickr user Nezumiiro has posted pictures of all the sets, perhaps from that Scandinavian site.
set 7090:
set 7091:
set 7092:
set 7093:
set 7094:
First off, I have no inside information about whether these are real or not, but they seem real to me. This series looks to me like LEGO's version of the Return of the King, much like the Adventurers line was their version of Indiana Jones without having to pay royalties. You've got the two opposing castles (Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul), big battle (of the Pelannor Fields), evil knight on dragon (Witch King on Fell Beast). I think this is brilliant. Of course I'm excited about all the same things as everyone else - undead horses (we've been waiting so long for that prototype design to become a product), the heraldry (I love the variations on the four-quartered shield with crown, especially the black and white one), the morning star (hmm, did they see Jeff's stuff and copy it?), the captured princess (we need more medieval women). Probably the set I'm most excited to get is the prison wagon, as that will be an economical way to get several undead horses, three of the redesigned skellies, two knights and several weapons and shields. Unfortunately it looks like there aren't a lot of the morning stars - one in the biggest set and one in the catapult set as far as I see, but hopefully we'll get more of these in future sets as well (once they make a mold, I'm sure they'll use it again). Anyway, looks like it will be a great year. I can't wait for ToyFair.

Castle pics- Old style knight visor! Yesss!
Here's hoping that's not just a prototype!
Also, a ballista that appears to work! And a Princess! And a flail! And, a, um, another catapault. Yay, I guess.

Great pics Bruce... many thanks for finally getting a good look at how the sets/packaging looks so far!
At this point, I'm confident these are a reality.
Agreed... and it's nice to finally see a big wagon being pulled by more than one/two horses.
Even the catupult, I must say, looks better than the typical castle catapult...
I do have to wonder though... is the KK2 storyline discontinued? Not that I'm complaining... but it would have been nice to see what the story was all about... and maybe get some gargoyles.
EDIT>> The skeleton in set 7093 has a very cool-looking sickle

Ugh.
This could be expensive (a good thing for a change).
There are alot of cool minifigs with these sets that I absolutely love. And finally, a FEMALE minifig! For me, she is the best of the lot, simply because we have so few unique female prints in the castle line. A new one is always welcome to diversify the inhabitants of any castle.
Still, I suspect that there are others like myself who aren't all that interested in amassing an undead army. I'm kind of disappointed that the sets all contain both factions, forcing you to collect skeletons and knights. It seems like I'll need to trade my skeletons away for more generic knights.

I hope that the colours of the feathers will be purple (just as the theme). I would be a new colour of feather.DanDanLegoman wrote:Things that I hope change:
* I hope the black "zword" is changed to another weapon
* I hope the knight's helmets come with feathers
Things I hope DON'T change
* The inclusion of scimitars
* The old style skelly faces
* The awesome heraldry (gold crown on blue quartered shields)
Purple? I think that is because of the poor quality photos. Those insignias are blue for sure . Nice sets by the way, although I would prefer a non-undead faction. I really don't like the new skellies. Also they seem to add both the factions into each set to make them have play values, which is pretty bad actually. Because of the skelly in the smallest set, the price will bump up for sure.
