Sweet, final products. However, I noticed something wierd.

Clicky

The barding is different on the box, than on the real thing in front of it. Hmm, maybe the boxes aren't actually finished...

Edit

Look on the lower right corner of this picture. The armor is silver, with printing on it. Also, this is catapult looks a lot better in real lilfe.

That's a good catch. I actually prefer the "newer" barding. The chain mail skirt looks good. And $8 for that set? I'll buy as many as I can afford.

There are a couple other differences I noticed as well:

• Box art knight has a helmet/visor headgear; the display knight has a grille helmet. (I sincerely hope the box art is correct.)

• Box art knight has what appears to be a classic dkgrey sword attached to his horse's barding; the display knight has what looks like a metallic (gold?) broadsword.

Regarding this particular knight, I believe he was misplaced in the exhibition: he belongs to 7093, the wizard's castle.

As Morgan19 mentioned, maybe gold broadswords (like those from royal knights and KKI) are back? :)

That's a definate possibility, although I hope not, as I prefer to silver-ish barding to the gold one. Also, I am pretty sure the gold longswords are back, since it seems that the King also has one.

I do imagine that the king will have a gold broadsword, but I believe the one being wielded by the knight is silver, only looking gold due to reflection.

That, or he belongs to the castle.

Look at the barding on the actual horse and the barding on the box in THIS PIC

And compare them to the barding on the horse in THIS PIC

And the barding on the box in THIS PIC

Its not super clear, but the real barding in the joust set looks like it belongs to the castle, and the real barding in the castle looks like it belongs to the joust set.

Here's hoping. (I really want cheap visors)

I am hoping to get cheap visors and bardings too :)
And if it all works out there'll be a new faction with a new king in my collection :)

Forget about waiting for them to be on sale, I intend to decimate the ranks as soon as I see them! I may have to take a day off work to travel to a lego store, I've got about $50 in coupons and this would be a worthy pilgrimage.

Well, the small sets look very nice (and VERY affordable if your from the US 8) ). As others have said, there appears to be a barding mix-up. I believe that the silver and blue (the better of the two IMO) barding belongs to both larger sets, while the gold barding is exclusive to the joust. Also, previous shots of the knight with the grilled helmet and barded horse appear in 7093.

Still, for army builders, this is going to be paradise. Of course, selling all of the skeletons will prove equally troublesome.

Me too, I only saw her for about a few seconds, and the next time I went on... BOOM!! "this folder is not yet public"
