I always enjoy desert themed mocs. They feel unique and are a nice change to the green+grey mocs.

Although this moc is not my favorite of your creations it IS great. I like design of the castle (maybe it could have been a little bit larger?) and the landscape is nice aswell.
The tiled path is beautiful and fits this theme very nicely (good pattern and color choises)
And i always enjoy your humour with the minifigs. It always makes me laugh. (i REALLY love that perf. minifig in your other mocs btw )

Yet another great creation, almost too many great details to comment on. One of my favorate things is the top of the castle, and how there are no studs visible. I love your use of tiles and slopes. Also, the way the towers widen before narrowing again and end is a great effect. The landscaping of the sand looks great as usual, and the tent made with real cloth is a nice touch. Only thing I could think of to improve migh be a little more varience in the level of the sand on the side with the tent. I see it goes down twice, but looks flat in several palces. 'Course, that's just me nitpicking. Overall it's incredible.

Well Mr. Rocko this just became my favourite creation of your's.

Although, it has many interesting elements, I will restrict myself to commenting on the effect of the 'sand' piling up at the side of the building, and the oasis. These are the two elements that immediately caught my eye.

Incredibly impressive!

I love every little bit of this MOC; there are plenty of fun details stuck everywhere that really make it unique, and enjoyable to look through the pictures.

The use of the BrickForge pig is brilliant (An idea, that if I ever put together a nice MOC, I would love to steal). I also love the way you build your flagpoles. Just the other day I was trying to think up a way to make them that way, with the flags dangling at the sides.

As for the bit about it being a grey stone castle in the desert; I really enjoy the contrast of it.

Oh- And I can't write a post without mentioning the pathway! Great design there, it stands out very nicely.

I really like the look of a grey castle in the middle of the desert. The tiling work outside of the fortress is beautiful! R2D2 and C3PO was that funny and surreal touch that I come to expect from your work.

A question for you Rocko. You crank out these amazing MOC's so quickly and consistantly, I was wondering how you prepare to build an MOC. Do you envision it all in your head and then start to build or do you do sketches on paper of the layout before building.

All in the the head. This is actually the first castle that I built from the ground up. Normally I build castles upside down. I always wonder if anyone else does this.

How do you build from top to bottom? Are there any benefits to this?

I have had the misfortune of having to build top down on several occasions, no matter how I planned it otherwise.

I do. Er, well, I've only done one castle creation so far, but I did do most of it upside down.

In my case (a tower), I started with the top of the tower, placed upside down on my table. Then I built up from the table, with every brick turned studs down.

As for benefits, I guess that depends on a lot of things. I did it because a) the top of the tower was the part I was most sure of what should look like, and b) I had to do less planning - building a base that goes with a tower is easier than building a tower that goes with a base. More creative freedom.

Dude, this is truly beatiful to look at. So many details. I see some Indy set pieces in there. I need to look at it more, but what a first impression. You have elevated yourself to one of the best builders around today. You're on a real streak here.
