For some reason, I actually like the troll better now (at least in sand green). The goblins are kinda cute.... they remind me a bit of Amanda's. I quite like the ship (yay new dark brown!). There actually seem to be two types of beards on the dwarves (maybe). And did anyone else see the sand green pennants?! Even if they're actually glow-in-the-dark, instead of sand green (which I highly doubt), we've still got a great new addition (even Jens doesn't have any!).

I agree with Blueandwhite about the unfortunate lack of human soldiers, but perhaps there'll be more sets later that contain more Crownies (or a year three?).

Those pre-mold crates in the Indy Motorcycle Chase look pretty awful though.

P.S. Sorry about all the parentheses (really ;)).

The main problem I see here... too many factions! Yes that's right! It's great to have all this stuff but I want to focus on two groups, max!

beards... .....

Seriously, how usefull are those beards going to be?

I think the dwarven faction just added some great options to anyone building a lot in the viking theme.

Looks like a new jail door piece in the ship set.

Bronze axe blades

Three new helm designs (I don't really care for the winged one, but I'm sure someone will like it)

I can understnd that if you don't like the goblin factions, this year will be some kind of dissapointment. But I'm telling you-- there are a lot of folks who have been waiting a long time for lego to do something like this.

The goblin's helms and swords are different, but I think that they will grow on some people. I like em anyhow, and they fit with the fantasy theme.

As far as the trolls and dragons. I like them brick built myself, but I'm thinking they'll be a hit with the kids.

So to recap:

Vikings
Dwarfs
Goblins/Orks and Trolls
Good Knights
Evil Knights
Skellitons
Power Rangers

What hasn't lego covered in the castle theme? Where will they go next?
Civilian themes?
We can hope.

I really like the goblins and troll. The odd thing is why are the goblins bearing the undead standards?

Maybe they're undead goblins.

Personally, I cant wait for the new sets, my only question is what happend to the Skeletons? The sets have the dwarves, goblins and humans but (what) happend to the undead?

Yeah exactly!

I'm looking on the bright side though: I bet if I got some of these sets for the other bits, I could trade for more humans/skellies.

gross these new sets are gross : (. I didn't expect megablock swords to really come out : ( and I'm not going to trick myself into liking it either like I did with KKII. Huge huge sets, and re-used viking torsos again, reused over and oba  . That said, i still want the new wizard coming out and the sentry  :D

The complaints about the 'MegaBloksy' swords are, in my opinion, baseless. Now, I'm not a huge fan of that sword design, but it's still very LEGOish. Clean lines, relatively simple, etc. MegaBloks weapons are GAUDY with all kinds of malformed features and funkiness to them. There's definitely a huge difference between them, from profile to implementation to design.

As fantasy-weird as it is, it's still more realistic and simple than anything MB would likely do in a similar line (or have done for that matter).

That said, I'm not big on the sword. It looks like it would be great for modding, but I'm guessing it's going to be in that horrible soft plastic which is almost impossible to file and cut properly. Oh well.

I'm loving everything else. The printed armour on the dragon, the helmets, the beards; everything. Can't wait until these are in stores. Hopefully I won't be broke at that time.

Is it okay if my response is only: :D

Well actually, the dwarven catapult looks like those machines from the Edge Chronicles "Freeglader"

I'm dissapointed by the troll creatures...I prefer trolls with hair and tusks or cyclopic eyes...something more like John Baur's trolls...

The beards are the highlight of this line for me. A couple of the winged helmets will be nice, but I hope they aren't over-done, like the Batlord helmet was. Personally, I'm still not sold on the goblin helmet yet...

Yeah, I like the beards too. Even though some of it looks rather mega-blockish, (goblin swords for example) it's still LEGO and there's a lot of pieces and figs in there I want. I plan on buying or at least trying to get some of those sets. The wheels look a bit outlandishly large on that siege tower, the goblin shield design looks wierd and the knight sitting on that dragon looks silly, but the sets are worth it for the pieces.
(The dwarf mine is great as a set though!)

Goblins pwn skeletons for enemies, IMO and the new dark brown looks cool. :)

P.S. Hi Athos!

I completely agree. I'm not sure if I like the swords or not, but they don't look like Megabloks. I think our community tends to describe anything we don't like as "Megablokish" whether it is or not. I have some Megabloks weapons and they don't look anything like these.

These swords remind me more of the oversized scimitars in the Orient Expedition sets, not of Megabloks...

I agree the knight looks absolutely silly. What is he going to do with that lance? By the time it is able to hit anything, the dragon will have eaten it and then it will be behind him... :D

I really like the look of the seige tower. It actually looks like it's been crudely put together by some half-minded orcs, but still strong enough to push through a crownie army.

Each time I look at the troll, I like it more and more! For some time I've just been using small Bionicles as trolls.

And I agree, the knight looks ridiculous on the dragon. You'd think he'd have a saddle or something to stay put in, instead of sitting on his butt.
