Until someone gets the chess set and takes lots of nice photos of the minifig though, it doesn't really make much difference.
That's what I'm waiting for. And if they do a good enough job, I just might fork all that cash over to lego after all.

I think a weapon rack will be in it. Probably just the normal one that came with the Crownie Impulse.

The peasant is pretty much guaranteed a fireplace or stove I think, and i'd be surprised if it was anything other than a cauldron for the witch. A weapon rack would be a safe guess too. A mine-cart for the Dwarf perhaps?

I'm wondering if we'll get animal pieces too though? Obviously a horse and barding would go hand-in-hand with the actual knight.

Yeah the horse could be a safe guess. Possibly a few of the gold and silver rocks for the dwarf.

Hello!

As excited as I am to see a jester (great! Tried to build one since 1984, because Playmobil had one) and a mediaeval maiden - the main idea of a Advent Calendar is to get surprised each day.

So, I know this calendar probably will be available as of October and everybody will be buying tons of it immediately and compare their armies of jesters and kitchen maidens. But in December I would really really really like to be able to get surprised each day by the respective little model for the day. I know, this wish is futile. Anyway.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

I remember the first (and only) time we actually used our advent calendar. My Mom told us we could only open up one each day. But to three little boys, that was tantamount to an order to do our best to find out what they all were before the day they were opened...good times...good times...

We had advent calendars for a while when I was growing up, although eventually I lost interest in the concept. Sometimes we had the ones with a piece of chocolate behind each door, too. One year, we had one of the first Lego advent calendars (1998? 1999?), from back when they were generally micro-scale cars and planes and such.

I was thinkng the exact same thing! A witch, who plauges the elflands with her terrible power and the elves fight back! Yet unknown are her heinchmen. If the witch is at all their enemy. But it is a great thought. :D
who ever finds the Golden Sword of the ancient Kings is just a lucky person.

Without attempting to do any research, It my general/lazy understanding that the City/Belleville Advent calendars do not contain any unique mini figure torso designs; So that the maiden and jester are probably precursors to future 2009 castle sets.

If that were true, then it would mean Castle Town buildings of a sort! At least ones where you would have a bar-girl and a jester! HAHA!!!!

While I would applaud such a decision on LEGO's part, that is by no means a foregone conclusion. A jester would be just as like to appear in a castle as the king's court jester, and there's no reason the girl could not be a serving girl. I mean, someone has to mop those stone tiles, right?

A bar would be awesome, though, and (if you're listening, LEGO) it could easily incorporate fighting:

"Our intrepid heroes get into a bar-fight with two trolls in a remote dwarfish tavern." :D

I know they could be included in a castle, but it would be a more peaceful Town-themeish castle. And such a castle would need tiled floors! :D

And if lego threw in a hodge-podge set like you just described, that would be freakin' awesome!!!!

God bless.
