I remember someone posting this pic a few years ago and everyone was abuzz as to what it meant. For me, it became the inspiration for my posable horses.

PS Yes, that was a shameless plug.

PPS And I echo the sentiment -- where did you get that price list, and where are the pics to go with them?????

I think they're like droid arms, but twisted 90 degrees so the hand is vertical, and can hold a sword or shield.

cropped and cleaned up from the original picture. they appear right under the black wizard in the pic.

am i crazy? those are new Trolls right?

Bigfoot? :D Someone on space IRC noticed those too. (Yes, even the spacers are drooling over this stuff.) I can't find mine at the moment, but didn't one of the Harry Potter sets have a troll-like thing in it?

Here's some Eurobricks finds:

A list of the sets:

Canadian prices-
7090 Crossbow Attack- 6.99
7091 Knights Catapult Defence- 14.99
7092 Skeletons Prison Carriage- 29.99
7093 Skeleton Tower- 70.99
7094 King's Castle Seige- 132.99
7009 The Final Joust

2007's going to be a good year. :D
i'm not real familiar with how lego converts prices from US->Canadian. can you give me a guesstimate of how much these might be in US? (does it basically follow the exchange rate or...?)
Well the prices would be a heck of a lot cheaper in American money. These prices were translated by a Eurobricker so it's possible they are not correct.

This is the Eurobricks link to the prices (no pics): http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eur ... 7258&st=90
but didn't one of the Harry Potter sets have a troll-like thing in it?
Yes, but I doubt TLC would use that big moulded piece again. :?

HOLY SMOKES!
(Please be true, please be true, please be true...ect)

This looks very awesome, the silver helms and swords look great and please don't get me started about those horses!
I think the biggest problem I am now starting to realize is that if this is true I am going to go bankrupt in 2007.. :P

just..wow!

They'll probably follow the same price scheme TLC has been using for most of their recent system themes. Meaning the first (I'm guessing) will be $5, then $10, $20, $30-$40 (for the jousting set which will probably be a TRU exclusive), then $50 for the dark fortress, and $100 for the castle. 8)

I'm pumped for this theme and can't wait to buy some of these sets!

My hope is that in addition to these sets there are some army builder packs... similar to the new star wars clone trooper and battle droid packs. from the sounds of it we're only going to get 1 or 2 figures in the smaller sets.

All I can say, by way of NDA, is that I am impressed by the amount of replies to Lord Sava's post.

Keep in mine that this is probably a prototype, albeit a nearly finalized on. The new printings are probably still being finalized and printing machines prepared. Let's not all panic just yet.
Panic? You are mistaken, as a person who fondly recalls the stickers of my 6075 in 1979 I welcome this!

OMG! If this is a hoax, then I'm gonna hunt someone down and... ooh. You really, really don't want to know.
If this is a even only a concept shot of what is to come... my goodness. :o
LEGO - if you're listening (and it looks like you have been) - WELL DONE!! 8)

Dark Blue faction. Yummy. Looking at the pics it looks like dark blue 4x1 banner flags as well. Lots of figures... C'mon lego let's have some minfig packs and civilian minfig packs. A return of generic soldiers not seen since before KKI. Am I mistaken in thinking the pic shows a king, a couple of (hero) knights and then lots of generic soldiers? The best of KK (heroes) - without jellybean armour! - and Classic (Lots of generic soldiers). Nice.

I'll reserve judgement about the new skellies. Obviously the old ones weren't poseable with weapons. If it's not too much of an adult theme for TLG are they trying to go for an out-an-out "undead zombie" type of skeleton rather than bare bones (just looking at the faces)?. For fighting I'd like the new skellie. For an inanimate pile of bones or skulls laying in a dungeon, and old skellie. I'm sure the undead (or do they prefer to be called "Differently alive" these days?!) will all get on...

The soldier's heads (though). Yuck! Will they be standing on guard with that expression? or are they double-faced heads like the Professor Quirrel/Voldemort head to name one? Attenively on guard with one face, yelling in fall battle-lust with the other? I like a bit of variety in my lego heads - even for generic soldiers. How about a shop-at-home exclusive "Heads" set, lego?

So for the pieces: Brown horses (YES!!!!!! How many horses are brown in real life as opposed to black or white. MOST OF 'EM!); Classic Swords - Yes! Shields - Yes! (but not enough! I won't be senting my soldiers out against an undead army with just a sword or a pike...). New Weapons - Yes! No Bows, Crossbows or Quivers? - NO? What are you thinking lego? If I'm up against an undead army I want more than a slow captapult as my only ranged weapon...

The new castle: Is is because it's the first "Complete" castle in ages or because I've built a couple of 6080's recently that it reminds me of the old 6080 King's castle? This, for me, is a good thing!

I'm hoping that the stickers are just for the prototypes: I hate stickers - I can never get them on as straight as I'd like and the darn things fade, and peel. No stickers lego, PLEASE! (although I'm sure some enterprising CC'er will produce decals sooner rather than later.)

Not so sure I like the "evil" castle or the bionicle dragon (hey, whats wrong with the old green one with red wings etc.)

With Lord of the Rings slipping out of the public's consiousness now, I think Lego may have missed an opportunity to sell loads and loads of fantasy-related (even non-licenced) sets - but Eragon / Harry potter may just keep the public engaged in the theme.

I can take or leave the evil castle and the dragon. I love the evil cart, the humans (kings, knights and soldiers) and the new castle. Will reserve judgement on undeads and skeletal horses.

So the three questions in my mind are... is this better than KKI/II? Do I like where this is headed? and Am I saving my pennies for next year?

The answer, written in 12-foot-high neon letters is YES!

At this rate of improvement by 2009 I may just buy two of eveything lego releases in a castle theme. And then worry about paying the bills...

Wow. My single longest post on CC. A bit rambling to be sure, but there was a lot on my mind.... LEGO FOREVER!
My Other sig is funny. Honest.

After looking at the pic a bit more (I don't know how to zoom in.....only partially tech savvy) a couple of observations;

1) Castle is big, and no raised baseplate. Lot of thought into the drawbridge, and the tower in the back left corner is quite tall. 6x5 leaves in front with multi coloured BURPs.

2)Reddish brown horses.

I am sooo looking forward to Christmas next year! :P

Don't you know your fantasy clichés? Has there ever been an RPG where skeletons aren't immune/resistant to pierce damage in general and arrows in particular?

...something I can't figure out - the skeleton in the front seems to have normal droid arms, thus holding his weapons gangsta style. But all the background skeletons are holding their weapons straight up. Different arms? Anyone has any thoughts?

EDIT: Seems I'm too daft to figure out how to make the forum display the img instead of its URL. What am I doing wrong?

not being able to figure it out myself, i took a wild stab and thought it might just be an angle thing, that the foremost skeleton just looks like he's holding it that way because he's running at us uphill and sorta diagonally...no clue though. at first i thought it might be a joint that rotated, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

the castle, which interests me more than the figures, looks fantastic, the best work lego would've done since vladek's dark fortress and sort of along the same lines. can anyone tell if the large tower (which i assume is the king's tower) is central or on the back left corner? i love that bridge connecting the king's tower and the opposite tower, which looks like a jail of some sort. and correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't it look like there's a guy with a crossbow manning the front left tower, being attacked by the dragon?

i agree that this is taking a lot of the best elements of both classic and kkI and II and combining them in a way that looks like it works really well. a few other thoughts:

brown horses are fantastic. the mounted knights have silver euro armor. the guy just past the foreground with the crossbow cart thing looks like he has a viking torso. i like the way the skeleton knights look, posessed or bewitched as they would be. the battle wagon looks like it comes with FOUR skeleton horses, which is great. the evil castle looks kinda silly, but oh well. the evil sorcerer type looks great. i can't seem to find the human king in the photo; is that him on the barded horse or someone else?

i'm a fantasy guy myself, and i would have preferred plenty of other fantasy factions (trolls, dwarves, et cetera) before skeletons but i still think they're pretty neat. more factions to come, perhaps?

*AHEM*

I did these from SKK to CAD just using xe.com. And I changed it to the nearest price TLC sells with. So they might be inaccurate. And here are my prices - US prices for you Americans.

Crossbow Attack-$6.03 USD
Knights Catapult Defense-12.93 USD
Skeleton Prison Carriage- 25.88 USD
Skeleton Tower-61.27 USD
Kings Castle Seige-114.79 USD

May be some errors due to being translated from CAD instead of original price.

This was pointed out on another site, but did anyone notice the four shields on the castle itself?

I can't tell if they're new or old...
