Just checked the main local shop here stocking Lego. No joy :( The review someone linked here mentioned them being available in France (Paris); they surely have to appear here in Ireland soon - we use euro too after all!

Anyway, I thought I'd do a comparison between 8777 Vladek Encounter and 7090 Crossbow Attack.

First, prices

8777
Price $8.99
Pieces: 43

New molds (That I know of):
Shield
Visors
Heads (new printing)
Swords

Figs: 2

-------------------------

7090
Price: $5.99
Pieces: 54

New molds:
Skellie torso
Skellie arms
Skellie sword
Skellie shield
Skellie horse

Figs: 3

-------------------------

So in cunclusion, Crossbow Attack obviously gives you much more bang for your buck. And it even costs less! As many have said, this will be a VERY good year for both LEGO and it's fans. :P

(you) forgot that 8777 has a barding :)
Oops, sorry.

Well, a horse with it's barding still can't beat a skellie horse!

In the US of A, Target stores have begun to place Batman sets on clearance. That ought to leave us a big hole for Castle in the theme groups on the Target layout. And the Potter set is due by June, destined for that big bottom shelf right next to the Castle Siege :D

The closest Taget here is miles away, and our Wal*Mart is pretty slow on the gitty-up when it comes to shelving the latest sets.

I'm not looking forward to buying from Shop@Home, because I know, no matter how early I place my order, most are going to get backordered before they ship.

Me and patience don't mix.

So that's why I hope my Wal*Mart will pick up that Castle sets will be worth getting fast.

The more I see of these sets, the more I like them. One thing is clear, though. This time, as opposed to with KK2, TLG listened to us. The re-introduction of the older weapons and armor, but more realistic heraldry. Thank you very much, TLG!

Looking at all these nice IMPERIAL KNIGHTS stuff, I've made a plan for them to be the Dyakovo (Ancient) and Keivan Rus (Medieval) amongst my Earth-bound factions.

A little late quote...
Are those yours? I would like to see a picture of that wizard's torso. I really need that tower... that princess is going to be good (I don't have a maiden or queen).

The Queen is currently available at certain lego retail stores in a "build your own minifigure" bin. I got mine there today for 3 bucks.

I've seen a couple floating around. I even have my eyes set one on, that must be where they came from!

BUT if anyone would do me a HUGE favor, and is already going to a LEGO store, pick me up one. I'll pay an extra dollar AND the shipping!

EDIT!!!

The sets (castle and tower) are released today!!! and the others are on pre-order, to ship the 22nd!!!

I just saw that!!! You can imagine my shock when I was going on Lego.com to check the sales and found Castle 2007 available now. I wasn't expecting any of these until August!
