While I quite agree that these pieces look like horse armour, the Lego online store description for set 7949 Prison Carriage Rescue does say "Prison carriage drawn by black unicorn". For what it's worth...

Well, LEGO thinks it's unicorns. Either way, I'll be using the unicorn horns as stalagmites in a cave. :D

Alert! Alert! Dragon Battlepack is now as S@H!
http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=852922
Diverting money to Dragons!

Edit: Didn't notice at first but the jester, wizard, and farmer (mentioned due to the cheap way of getting pigs) are all there as well. It's like heaven, but it costs to much :D

Weird... the wizard is up, but when you try to zoom in on the image, it opens a zoom window with a picture of the jester. Also, the hat and legs don't seem to be printed in the set image.

Bluesecrets wrote: This whole issue of the Chinese parts is one that...well I'm pretty sure we all are a bit disappointed that the quality is down. But it is being brought up in all kinds of threads all over the place. And not all things from China are in fact low quality. Yes, you have a right to be disappointed. Maybe you should contact LEGO themselves about it.
Thats where I agree with you. I'll (we) have go to the source. After opening my new Kingdoms sets and finding pink Lion torsos and barding and the finding the odd plastic on the battle pack guys I share the group's disappointment.

Bluesecrets wrote: Either case...if you don't want those figs...do not buy them. You have the power...it is your money.
Thats the point and the shame of all this to me. I keep coming back to to Lego for the quality. So once you have already spent the money, expecting the usual quality product, getting a product at such a lower standard is frustrating.

On a side note, except for the few pinkies the new sets and figs are great!

But you should be aware anything that contains figs that is not a proper set...does contain figs made with parts from China. What are these? Well that would be tic tac toe sets, chess sets, the collector figs..both the collections and the individual, the battlepacks, the magnet sets, etc.

If you weren't aware of this before, well then I'm glad you have become aware now.

I do know that architect, one of our CC LEGO Ambassadors has discussed the pink issue with LEGO and has posted that in the thread in "dear lego" about these pink issues. But...pink parts will be rare soon and the people who collect the rare, unusual, and misprinted will want those parts.

Well, i've got some poo in the garden as well if anyone's interested in that.

I hope the paint issue has been dealt with. If it has, then the "mis-paints" may or may not be sought after. Only time will tell.

:raiseone: Was that really necessary?

I don't care if it was made on mars. Why should that matter? When Lego puts it's name on a product we never uaed to worry about poor quality . Of course we are more aware and picky then the average buyer. That's the point. Its disappointing that I now will have to research part quality before buying Lego!

I'm sure they are working on it. I'll look forwrd to the fix.

Yes.

I just find it hilarious that these misprints, these pieces that we've moaned about already can somehow transcend that and suddenly become worth money and desirable. It's silly.

I got my first kingdom sets today. the prison tower and knights showdown.. And I'm liking this theme alot more in person than i thought I would. Can't wait to get the other sets :D

I just hope in future sets they manage to match the black outlines better to the metallic paint on the shields, barding and armour.

Sup, guys?

Just got all the sets in the main line except for the small one and no impulses 'round here. I'm happy to see more archers although the crossbowman in the Prison Tower Rescue lacks a quiver, that can easily be remedied with an extra Forestman from the Collectible Minifigures line. I like the new horse helmet but not the unicorn horn especially since I haven't been made of helmetless unicorns in any set. Man I hope we see more of this line in the future with dragon knight barding and maybe the wizard riding on a dark green and gold armored black horse. The new castle wall pieces are big disappointment especially since a couple castles from years recently passed incorporated our classic wall piece friend. This bucket helm is awesome but I just hope it doesn't become the only helmet for knights I hate when pieces are replaced like that. I want the bucket helm, the classic helm, and the moveable visor helm! Oh man did you guys notice the strange new flame pieces? They don't have the little pegs on them that allow them to be placed in the classic dragons mouth.

Smell ya later!
Sir Vincent

I just noticed that description as well. My first impression was that it was just horse armor, but after further thought and inspection it looks like perhaps they are intended to be unicorns after all. I would however prefer an armor-less unicorn, i.e. a horse with a modified head piece where the horn actually is part of the horse (unicorn) itself, not the armor. Somebody mentioned a Unicorn in Harry Potter... it will be interesting to see if Lego includes it in a set, and how they make it...

I'm a fan of the new castle - very similar to the older models which is a good thing in my eyes.
