My opinion on this topic is, that we should make something that's not related to GoH. Since we'll then be on two different forums, interaction between the "CC Guild" and the other ones will probably be pretty sparse, and we won't really be able to take part in the various contest e.t.c. the other guilds have going on. Or, at least, it may be quite complicated.
I have to agree with you here, I think it would be much better if we made our own world instead of making it an extension of GoH.
Well, yes, it certainly would be nice to be free of GoH. That way we could make it just as we like it, without having to go ask permission to do something. We would simply have to make it differently enough so as not to cause trouble.

here's my map. I'm not very good with names so I haven't given any to the factions. the islands marked with gray are sort of "unclaimed" land where any one of any faction could build.
please tell me what you think :)

Very cool!! I like the shaping of the continent. The unclaimed islands are a great touch! Was this done with the Paint program?

I like this map idea, it can be easily developed further. But I am too eager to see others map ideas, maybe if I have time I could too make some map idea :). But maybe it will be better if just a few people come up with maps and then we vote. After that comes the ideas how to develope and improve the map and the stories.
I like the darklands to the north west, mountains maybe some volcanos. And icelands to the south and southeast.
Is this going to be more like classic medieval humans vs humans with kings, nobles, knights, peasants and not much magic.
Or some dark figures too in the story, orcs, trolls etc.
I have had some backstories for some figures to join EB Historica but not having the time to join them there so I havn`t developed them any further.

Yep, I think a few more maps will be entered. We can simply chose the most liked one, or pehaps comebine the best parts of a some of them to make a cool collaborative map! as to orcs\trolls I personally think it would be best to have most of the factions to be basic people, but their certainly could be some orcs or trolls somewhere, it really depends on what everyone want's to do. :) I'm still hoping there's not going to be that much magic. but I could easly be outvoted. :P A volcano or two would be pretty cool! Some great ideas here mencot!

Eralgor stands, the wind of time blow and the age of men reaches its Zenith. The forces of Eralgor are based in the Blue Tooth castle, a mountain town with a blue stone castle on a hill. Pics will be added soon! 8)

Well I have an entire WORLD I have created and a story this is over 80,000 words long at the moment...

I like the map lord of orcs made, I think that we should let everyone who wants to create a dot on a map where they can locate a castle with a picture attached somehow. That way there would be a map of the world with a view of every kingdoms buildings on it. I am not sure how to do that but if you could somehow hover over the selected square and see a picture with a link it would be a good idea

I'm not sure how well putting in pictures would work, but making the name of the location a link the the pics of the moc is definitely a good idea :)

Personally, I'd prefer to have a tie to GoH as a new "Island Territory" or something. My reason for this is that we get to reap the benefits of their extensive existing organization & coordination. We could still develop our region to our liking without having to start from scratch.

Also, even non-members of EB can read their forums, so it would be easy to stay connected to what they are doing over there. If we had one person who was our "representative" to EB, they could stay in the loop as far as monthly contests and run the CC thread. Once a contest deadline closes, that person could simply post a summary of results and a link to our thread on the GoH forum. I don't think it would be that difficult.

Teherean is already signed up over at EB, so he could possibly do it. If not, I'd be willing to handle it.

As for magic, trolls, etc, I think that there should be a place for them in whatever we come up with. I don't think we need to have wizards who are casting kingdom-wide force fields or raining down meteor showers to smite their foes, but if someone wants their sig-fig to be an orc/werewolf/centaur/etc or if someone wants to have a castle headed by a warlock that's staffed by an undead army, I don't want to crimp their creativity.

I agree to an extent. It would be nice to have a connection but I wouldn't want it to be subject to another sites "rules" per se if we want to be considered a part of their world

Not starting from the scratch is true, if it was tied to GoH but that is a bit of our own here at CC. But its to somebody else to decide. Both ways are good.

Yeah a little magic and some fantasy objects in there, nothing overwhelming the area were there is more of that could be placed up north west in the dark mountains, where the volcanous are too.
But knights and hardcore classic medieval is my idea of what it should be more like.
