I have been pronouncing it "row - uh - wee - uh"
Is that wrong?
I've said it "ro - way - ah"
I guess I've been keeping the first a silent... hm. So maybe you're right.
I saw "row-ay - wee uh".

I used to pronounce it "Ro-way-uh" until I noticed the extra "A" just after the "O".
Since then I've always pronounced it "Ro - ay - wee - uh".

I guess that's up to personal interpretation.

I tend to say "Roh-way-uh" but I could be incorrect.

I say "RAO-wee-uh", but that's based on how I first read it and has nothing to do with any actual phonetics, lol.
Garheim is "GAR-hime" (and Garhim is "GAR-him")
Loreos is "LORE-ee-ohse" ("lore-EE-see")
Lenfald is "LEN-fahld" (and "LEN-fell")
Outlaw is....
I'll be firing the LCC back up with my normal enthusiasm and activity after my exam is over in a few weeks.

It's really neat to see how different people interpret the same word in their own manner.
Looking forward to what you have in store AK!

I find it rather offending that you left out the outlaws. Shame on you, good sir! We outlaws should join our armies and take over Roawia! Wait a minute... We already did
And to make things clear: I always say Ro-á-v-ia. Hope that helps.

I usually say it as Row-ee-uh, though I have said it as row-ay-uh, and a couple of the others. My favorite has to be Row-ee-uh.

I've always read it as RO - AY - YA but looking bears no recollection to the actual spelling. RO -AR - WE - AR seems more of a mouthful.
What about Galainir? It seems like the King's Council almost deliberately choose spellings that are difficult to remember and pronounce...

I've always read it as "ga-LAY-neer", but I didn't invent the name, so I am not the final word on the subject, I suppose.
"Galainir" is the "official" spelling, by the way. I believe a question was asked regarding that somewhere.
I suppose for the next character we introduce, we'll just call him "Steve", or something relatively simple to pronounce
This is a rather interesting discussion, since in an age without television or radio, local areas would likely not have any global exposure to what anyone's "correct" pronunciation would be, so it would likely vary from town to town.

I read Galainir as ga-LAY-nir too, that's just how it looks to me.
That's a good point AK, many people would pronounce things in the style of their regional accents.

When I say her name I emphasize on the first part: GAL - ay - neer, maybe it's just my Elven accent.

I always pronounced it "Guh - ly - neer", which seems to be in stark contrast with what everyone else has said so far.

I say roe-ee-na,but that's because I've never read it properly and not had the opportunity to drop it into casual conversation.
