LCC Global Challenge VI: A Glimmer of Hope (Preparation)
SPIRITS ON FIRE
In a campsite near Lake Geneva…at dusk...
And then they came one after the other. First came the first patron, a lady merchant from the province of Loreos, then a tailor from Lenfald, and finally, an inn-keeper from Garheim. An opportunity of silver perhaps again for the bounty hunter or could it be something else. A destiny for a path yet to be unveiled.
"...I dont trust the outlaw...for what purpose he be here?" Asked the lady in red.
"...be not worried Lady Fair ...he came not knowing this meeting of ours...still, i trust the stars they could, have made the very best of intentions...ho ho ho.."
"...I see ye be drinking your rhum ahead of us now blacksmith? Harharhar!..." said Sir Frost, the inn-keeper from Garheim.
"...I see where thee lady be fallen...so what best intentions ye mean? For the cause, or for the outlaw's case?” asked Sir Gravel, the tailor from Lenfald.
"...I better take my leave sir blacksmith...let's do our trade some other time perhaps...my hide seems to be unwelcome here..." Ash said while drinking his bottle of rhum.
"...spirits come burning my friends..." whispered the blacksmith in a low tone voice, where all present felt the sudden pause as they stare in his eyes, ready to listen and hear what he has to say.
"....just like Lenfalds trees...some burn tonight...and Garheims snow falling like cold fire...such as the Loreesi desert fill Megablocks's laughter...and even the wastelands of the outlaws turn darker with the shadows of the black flame.....for the whole kingdom of Roawia is screaming in pain...shattered by wild fires...an evil summon by the heartless queen Galainir..."
"...Sir Gravel and Lady Fair ...forgive my rough thoughts on the matter but what befall your lands also concerns everyone else as well...even an outlaw is a victim of this dangerous time...and ye best consider that...and Ash, if ye accept my open invitation…that ye be part of our party ..." the blacksmith added.
"...haha...that sent shivers down my rugged spine old man...but what I need is just the trade I speak of and nothing more...I be best moving on my own business ye? And I feel what her lady says...who would trust an outlaw ye?..."
"...my dear boy...havent you noticed still? We are all in shadows under a god forsaken night sky, breathing cold dust in a hidden region of the Loreesi desert...we are all lost, and this we all have left for now...and though somewhere there are resistance factions forming and rebellions at rise, the black flame of Galainir will burn a little longer than is to be expected…and I believe somehow, that the sands of destiny has written you to be and extra sword for us even though not all seem to approve of this fate...its time for you, Ash of Dreadmoor, to pick your side ye? And for the rest of ye lady and gentlemen (nodding to the group)...I best remind you that we are all OUTLAWS in these dark days..."
“…still Sir Blackfyre, how do you expect a Bounty Hunter, a Tailor, an Inn-Keeper, a Merchant and a Blacksmith to storm the stronghold keep of the Queen and cease her might and army?...” Ash added.
“…ho ho ho…sir Ash…though our faction does not support the Queen’s campaign, we intend not to directly stop the war…We are just BOOTLEGGERS…stealing supplies, weaponry and armory from the Evil Queen’s property shall be our business…in the end, if we have stolen enough…we may have helped more for the rebellion and thus, the eventual freedom of Roawia…”
“…now count me in on that Sir Blacksmith…Hahaha…”
And Shadows fall on plain grounds that night, as the campfire steadily warms up the evening wind and eats up the wooden mesh of broken coal.
