Not to mention how to make your car get 1000 miles to the gallon and a map to DB Cooper's loot.

$399 CDN??? Pardon me, but that is inexcusable. $100 more than our American friends down South.

That is one thing I do not understand.

Will this set be available at Lego Stores in the States? I will be heading to the one in Washington in August.

Thanks

Wow, $399 CDN does sound pretty rough. I just can't help but think that for $299 USD I could buy 23 battlepacks (115 fully armed minifigs) or 8 of the other chess sets (when they were going for $35). Granted the chess set does have orcs, trolls, and some very nifty pieces . . . but I'll pass for now.

Guys - the deleted posts were all about the price of the set; presumably Lego didn't want this info distributed online. Now I suggest you delete your posts ASAP, unless the admins say otherwise.
But LEGO just put the price up on S@H!

they screwed up the australian pricing again. :P hurry up ozzie brethrens. lap up those sets for AU$300

edit: actually after looking at the prices in a few countries it seems USA is no longer subsidized (EUR199 vs USD299 implied exchange rate of 1.5...ouch! much higher than current exchange rate of 1.4 'ish).

yuck...guess this is going straight from release to 50% sale.

Oh boy! So many great pieces, and such a price! I'll have to wait for a while, but I'll probably still be getting one at some point. Just to awesome of a set to pass up...

For $300, I would expect at least 3,000 pieces.
I'll wait till this one goes on sale.

Still a great chess set though, I'd hate to miss out on it.
