Yes, but 7946 King's Castle is just "King's Castle" so far and "Castle" at the NY toy fair.

EDIT: Oh and on "Dark Knight Tower", the set name is 7947 Prison Tower Rescue (So far!). The box is still a preliminary image though meaning, it could be "Dark Knight Tower", but not likely (Prove me wrong :D )

But weren't crownies made up by fans (for the most part)? Fans just took the thing that was all over their armor and turned it into the name. Maybe that will happen with these two new ones. Lionknights V2? Dragon Masters V2?
That's what I figure. I mean, "Crownies" really stuck, didn't it? And luckily the Dwarves are lumped in with the Crownies. And Trolls are fairly self-explanatory (whether you call them Trolls or Orcs). And the undead hordes? One wizard and an army of necromantic minions ... not truly a "faction" so much as one very bad guy and some bones.

I wonder how long it'll be before our new Lion guys or Dragon guys have their own nickname like "Crownies". The Lion guys clearly have a King, and the maiden might well be a Princess ... the Dragon guys have their Green Wizard, who doesn't look "super evil" like the Skeleton Wizard was, but doesn't exactly look like a friendly wizard.

Comparisons between Fantasy Era come to mind. Is it a Good Kingdom and an Evil Wizard? Or is it more like 94/95, where the Wizard was just an odd eccentric who wrangled Dragons and had his own private militia?

Yeah, yeah ... I know, I know ... "It's whatever I want it to be".

I have said already I really like this new line and now even more. Congrats to TLC.

The princess looks really nice now that we can see her dress.

The great helms look very good in my opinion but what color is the dragon knights helm exactly? It looks dark bley to me but othrs have been calling it some pearl color? The single slot for the eyes doesn't really bother me.

The one green knight photo has a nice fancy and yet generic (factionwise) looking torso.

Getting 2 staircases on the back of the prison tower is pretty neat.

The King's Castle has a staircase too so minis don't have to magically climb up to the battlements. I like it.

I don't think enough is being said about the new 2x2 window piece. It is nice to be able to center a window on a wall that is an even number of studs long. This could dramatically change the way I build depending on the colors that the window comes in. Bley being the most important color to me but tan, black, brown, and white to name a few... would be very useful as well. I am pretty certain these windows will not hold the grate or lattice pieces unless something more is going on behind the piece that I can't see. It also has a small hole in the base. Possibly for a new window interior piece? Take a look at the very high resolution photo of it.

new 2x2 window image

Why is it that every photo I see makes me have more questions! :tasty: Has anyone had their hands on one of these pieces yet?

My biggest wish with the current line-up would be that the dragon knights get a mounted knight with barding. The lion knights get 2 different sets of horse barding and that makes the dragons look less than the equals of the lions. Perhaps this will be rectified in a future release. Possibly in a jousting set...

I had not noticed that new window until Dale pointed it out just now. I looked at it briefly before but my narrow minded brain just passed it off as the old window under an arch. I wonder if it will be replacing the old window? They do seem to be present in the sets as well. What about Hogwarts? Better go have a look at that castle too.

I really would love some clear shots of the kinghts' torsos. So far, I have seen:

Lions:
Chainmail w/cross belt & red arms
Checkered w/coat of arms & white armos
Printed plate???
Under king's armor??? (dark red w/white arms)
Under knight's armor??? (light bley hopefully printed plate)
Knight's armor (breastplate)
King's armor (breastplate)

Dragons:
Chainmail w/scalloped cowl & cross chain belt(similar to Bull soldiers) & dark green arms
Chainmail w/double crossed chain belts & black arms
Checkered w/coat of arms & black arms
Knight's armor (breastplate)

Did I miss any?

^^I don't think so, that list seems pretty complete to me.

OK, the wizard's scroll says: "You are far more powerful than you would ever imagine."
Huh, wut?

**edit** I know username really only means the soldiers but I feel that it should also be pointed out that the new princess does not have any markings on her that would indicate that she belongs with any certain group/faction.

But the princess is wearing white and red clothing, doesn't that mean she's with the Red Kingdom? And she's being held captive by the Green Kingdom...unless she ran away from the King and the knights and was seeking refuge...Maybe she's a bad girl and the knights have been sent to take her home? :D

I'm sure that the Lego Magazine will point it out a little.

I also just noticed the dark pearl weapons for the green faction-- a spear and crossbow at least. I hope they do swords in that color!

Edit: looks like they have! http://www.flickr.com/photos/fbtbnet/43 ... 436240830/

Hmmm...I'm wondering if another color is really necessary. They look pretty sweet though...

For the purposes of these sets....yes...she goes with the red and white guys. In the grander scheme of things because of her lack of badging, she doesn't strictly have to belong to them. Unlike the Crownie family. Now fix your hair and get outta here before I shove you into a locker. :P

Yeah that pearl dark grey color does look pretty good. I can't say I have many parts in that color as most were made for bionicle. I am eager to see the weapons and armor in that color.

Getting enough of them for me to mix into all of my armies as needed will be a tough order. I hope they are in high numbers in the new sets. I just love sets with extra armor, shields, and weapons.

As for the princess, I am very happy she has no lion on her anywhere. Did TLG take the advice of AFOLs about minis being too faction specific? Then again a lion isn't as easy to put on a princess dress as a crown is. Lions just aren't very feminine. :raiseone:

Now that I think about that, that probably will be very helpful for mocs in the future. :)

I have to admit that even if I like very much the white-red scheme, I'm not convinced at all by the lion logo. What do you think?

I was also thinking yesterday that in the old classic castles we were getting 4 horses: in the Kingdoms "king castle" just 1! And I also noticed there are no knights with horse for the bad guys!

Red, by far, is my favorite colour so I'm quite happy to see it. I think the red highlights on the castle really pop.
I had also noticed that there is a serious lack of horses in the theme in general. Three? Two of which are the ever popular white horses, yuck! TLG really seems to think that all chargers in medieval times were white and the dray horses were black. Please LEGO, some brown horses? Want to make sure castle fans buy these sets, include some horses in colours that we don't already have tons of. The white horses won't make anyone not buy them but, some dark and/or regular brown will probably only help.
