As promised, my ongoing MOC *updated*

Post by kingkastle »

Well here I am finally squeezing out a few pics of the Moc I've been working on over the past year or so. It's a big one but I'm oh so hesitant about releasing pics of my Moc's till they are done. Still you can thank my lady KKsfig as she is known for the push that brings you these. I'd say the town is about 85% complete with just the 'icing' left to finish so to say. The Moc in total then would be about 60-75% complete. Oh and by the way it's footprint is a 4'x8' sheet of plywood. Enjoy!

The backdoor:

A guard at his post, wonder where those logs are going?

An alleyway:

A simple chapel:

Let me know what you think and hey who knows maybe I'll post more,
lets see theres the blacksmith, wizards shop, apothecary, falconer, manor, servants house, marketplace..... and more.

Aint I cruel? lol

I like the back door dock. I also really like how you keep the wall interestingly diverse while just using a retangular motif.

Nice size! I would like to see some pics showing the whole MOC. Your civilian buildings are great. I can't wait to see this completed. It's hard to comment on a WiP but If you don't mind a little constructive critisism I woild suggest using arches more - expecially for the doorways. I like how you have broken up the wall with both colour & structurally but I am not fussed on the red line throught the towers, although this is still WiP & it may yet work out, especially if you were to roof those towers

I generally don't post on WIPs unless they're really nice, but yours is, so here goes.

I'm not going to say much now, 'cause for some odd reason I'd like to have more to review later, but this is really great. I love how the trees aren't just 'placed' around the church/chapel; they seem to have just grown there. Only a couple things I don't like. The stained glass window, while nice, is a bit simple (not that I could do better). Also, a smoother transition on the battlements in pic #2 would be good (perhaps plate-height steps?). Overall, quite nice, and I'm not rushing you, but hurry up and finish this!

Nice preview/teaser shots, I want to see more of the outer wall!

Of these shots I really like the little crane "bucket." It's a very simple but effective way to make one of those.

Super job so far, can't wait to see the completed deal-e-o!

That Chapel looks really good. I like the design, and the way you used the arches and pillars.

hey thanks alot for the suggestions guys. I really do hope to get this up and done but honestly dont see it happening till the end of the year as I am now focusing on my second hobby, reef aquarium keeping (setting up a 110 gallon DIY coral reef system for those interested). I will however stretch the bricks I do have left (maybe about half my ciollection still to go through)

Oh and WunzTwice I hope you dont mind but my Gong farmer is based almost entirely off of your former sigfig, hope this is okay. (i'll get a pic posted if so)

I'm gonna try to setup my tripod so that I might take some more really nice pics for you all later tonight.

One last thing, if anyone else would like to see their sigfig placed amongst my MOC just let me know and I'll try my best to accomodate (I do after all have well over 1000 minifigs, so the parts must be there somewhere)

This looks great. I can't wait to see the rest. I really like the detail put into the front of the chapel. Also, the sprawling effect of the side of the castle is great. An excellent MOC!

This is looking VERY nice, kingkastle. It's definately giving me inspiration for the castle project I plan on doing someday.

oh ain't that sweet! You can really tell when a man has a lady influencing his MOCs ... my own lady insists on each MOC having flowers - she used to love those elements as a kid
