Sorted!

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey,

I'm actually (almost) completely sorted! :P Figured I'd take a picture of the whole collection. Click the pic to go to the Flickr page where there are notes describing what's in each bin.

Very nice Bruce N H! I never thought of putting them in bags and boxes at the same time. Good luck sorting the rest.

Very nice. My sorting method is more along the line of everything being currenty used on top of the table. Everything not being currently used in random bins. I shold probably try sorting mine more, but I can never find the time.

Very nice, its good to always sort.I can say I don't have as much Legos like that as you.I usually put down to a deeper scale like individual pieces and colors, but great job.

Just saw this on Flikr. It must feel good. I'm still working my way there. Although my grey is all sorted at last, and 'most' of the rest of my parts.

Sweet! I love the 'all sorted -> time for building' feeling! Personally I like to break all the categories down a bit more, particularly for tiny pieces. also, I noticed a comment a on Flickr about sorting by colour, but I think your way is better, it's easier to find the colour you need when you know what type of bricks you're digging through, rather than finding the right piece in a sea of same-coloured bricks. To each his own though...

Sorting: That's a hobby on itself. After I take down my moc I'm busy for up to six weeks with sorting.( Depending on the size of the moc).
My lego is first sorted by colour. After that All different parts are stored separately in selfmade wooden boxes ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2457783 ) or plastic organizers. Besides those two ways I use also plastic storage boxes from 0.5 litre op to 35 litre ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1406353 )( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1942538 )

You do it like me but I don't have near as much Legos as you.I think thats the fastest way to build.

Fantastic work. I have been in denial since the end of the contest. I havn't even stepped foot in my LEGO room, it's a total disaster area ;)

Wow very nice Bruce!

I couldn't help but reply because this reminded me of the huge sorting that I'm going through right now too! And I could use some containers like the ones you have because right now I'm stuck with using plastic bags!

Good job.

Congrats! As an added compliment your MOCs led me to believe a lot more bins of lego were at your disposal ; )

God Bless,

Call me crazy (and some do anyway), but I think even if all my Lego was sorted i'd go and mix it all up again on purpose.

Does anyone else not find the whole process of categorizing and rummaging deeply satisfying?

I've got enought LEGO that even with sorting I'm spending most of my time rummaging.
