Reclaimed Construct

Once a tool of iron and wood in the employ of the local wizard, this treelike construct was abandoned in the woods after a run-in with a dragon. Left to itself, the constuct ran itself down until it could no longer move, and has now been reclaimed by the forest that birthed it, animated by the spirits of the trees themselves.

This is really cool. Reminds me an ent. Did you get inspirations for LOTR at all?

Nice. I particularly like the feet. It does seem a little headless though.

I like the hand construction and the twiggys on top. Some eyes might help it a little but if it was under the control of a wizard, I quess it wouldn't really need eyes.
Nice job!

This is a beautiful, unique creation, E! I'm not convinced of the new head, though, I think the gray is out of place. Maybe just add some more twigs to the original design?

:D I approve.

The incorporation of plants in the upper arms is clever, and your use of rubber bands seems both functional and decorative. And the model's well-articulated while having the vital plant-like appearance.

I like it. The addition of the head is good. The use of the samauri armor gives it a feel of still retaining the iron it once was and helping balance the mix of iron and wood. Some eyes might be cool, but if they distract from the look, then they're unneeded. I like the little back story as well. Good job.

BuilderQ- Thanks for the approval! I've been admiring your creative part use on your figure's heads for some time, but I'm afraid my take on it leaves something to be desired.
Also, yes, the articulation works well. A bit too well; actually, some of the joints aren't strong enough to keep it in some of the poses I try.

Traveler- I like the twig as much as I like the head, so I've been alternating between the two. I'm not really sure what it'll end up like so i posted both!

Bruce- The feet were the impetus for the whole project. You can see the same technique here, on a sky-fi airship.

Everyone Else- Thanks for the input!

I've been following this on flickr, and I really really like it. The articulation is great, and it doesn't compromise the looks. About the head, I think the twig one is the best so far. BuilderQ's design, while great, doesn't work here.
