Well, my latest Tudor building has come a long way from my first
Flickr Gallery

Feedback?

EDIT::
I used photoshop to sharpen the images; what do you think? I'm practicing and want feedback so when I take pictures of my new creation they justify it.
The pictures are found in the gallery and on the second page.

This MOC looks really fun, almost like it is designed to be a LEGO set. I love buildings that open up, it gives a lot of playability to it. Great work!

This is an awesome example of a small Medieval MOC! I really like the small offset at the hinge, it adds a lot of texture, and gives a nice overall organic feel to it. It's nice to see someone building in the CC town standard style again! I need to whip up some more houses like this myself.

Although I cannot see the gallery, (bloody school computers aren't too fond of flickr & blocked it ), the thumb looks awesome! Great blacksmith's shop too!

Hey LF,

For a while we were seeing half-timbered buildings here every day, but it's been a while, so it's nice to see some again. This is nice--I particularly like the color scheme, and the staggered shape at the hinge point is interesting. 3 suggestions:
1. You have a fireplace, but no chimney.
2. In the work area, I'd have some 1xn tan plates or tiles stacked around as boards (or some of these printed tiles if you have them)
Image
3. A window in the upper floor would be nice.

Haha, you caught the fireplace mistake. I knew I did that, but I forgot to fix it

I don't have any 1xtan plates, in fact, my tan collection can fit in a tiny container, much less printed ones. I used 1x3 and 1x4 reddish brown plates because most lego wooden equipment is in this color scheme, although having tan bits on the ground would look like freshly cut shavings.

I always have the difficulty of the window in the upper story. I'm not sure how to do this, because a brown panel window like this is not in my collection.

Any suggestions on the window? I should probably try to expand my collection... a Cafe corner would have lots a tiles (another thing I'm missing) and tan, brown, and dark red.

My only question is how does he get upstairs?

I only ask because I have a terrible time trying to make a good stairway...

There is a ladder, but the piece, because it's dangling, somehow got lodged against the wall, so you can't see it in the pictures.

Should we expect to see this make it's way into your town anytime?

Very nice. Simple design, but very well executed.

Really nice little building. The nly thing I'm missing is a window on the second floor.

How does the carpenter get to the second floor?

Pretty good, Lord Felix. :) One of the details I really like is that on the first story walls, they have the jutted-out, connected/column sort of thing going on. It make it look stronger, and not as bland.

It already has; check out the town pictures on flickr and you should spot it. :D

I really like this. It's simple and small, which of course doesn't consume a lot of pieces. I can definitely learn a thing or two from that; all my tudor structures so far have exhausted my collection, but I want to build a town one of these days. I'll come back and look at this when that time comes. :)
