This has been a long time coming, and I'm still in the process of putting the photographs in order and uploading the rest.... but here it is! The great siege on the Falcon Fortress.

This battle is chock full of action: Siege weapons, sappers, ambush, mythical beasts.

The story goes that the Black Falcons are under suspicion that the Bulls are preparing to take their fortification. The Bulls consider the fortress/castle to be lightly guarded, but a difficult siege, so they bring a massive army to take the castle, which is located in a hilly area below a mountain treeline.

In order to achieve this siege, the Bulls have signed a pact with an undead Skeleton army, knowing that Falcon prowess with the bow is nullified by fleshless armies. The skeletons plan a daring frontal assault, successfully breaching the gate.

The Bulls, being experts at siege, bring along several trebuchet, a sapper squad, two ladder crews, and a whole slew of footmen and cavalary.

The Falcons were fortunate: All of their secret emissaries relayed distress calls to their allies, the Eagles and the Forestmen, though neither arrived until the battle had already began.

The first to arrive were the Forestmen, who laid in wait for the Bulls to approach the eastern wall to sap the fortifications. With a rain of arrows, the Bulls were sent into shock. They tried to repel the Forestmen with cavalry, but they held the high ground and the benefit of tree cover. They easily overtook the charge and ran to secure the front gate on word from the Black Falcons who were observing the situation.

Meanwhile, the Bulls discovered a water drainage pipe, which they entered in order to find a way inside.

Just as the Forestmen advanced, their numbers were divided by the appearance of a giant undead snail, which spit acid that rendered flesh from the bone in mere instants! Forestmen mages distracted the abomination while the rest of the army advanced into a grueling firefight with Bull crossbowmen. The Forestmen quickly took fortification on the gate bridge.

While the Bulls rained down stone from their siege weapons, the Eagle faction charged the artillery crew with a mix of heavy armor on foot and horseback. Soon after, the Forestmen set fire to the siege weaponry.

As things started looking good for the Black Falcons and their friends, the Bulls set off another surprise! The Spider faction, which caught sight of the Forestmen as they approached the castle, flanked their rear, which was only comprised of a mages and a few bodyguards. They sent forth a scorpion beast, literally giving the Forestmen a pinch!

The Eagles fought valiantly, and while they had to fall back to the castle, they managed to dissuade the Bulls leadership to retreat to encampments further away. The remaining Bulls, Spider, and Skeleton warriors brought the battle indoors.

You get to imagine how the battle ends. :P

My bro gave me quite a bit of help with things.

Wow this is just an incredible MOC, you must have spent a lot of time on it. The castle it self is a beauty to look at and the amount of minifigs, wow! It is good to see how you put them all to good use. The story is really interesting, I never knew the Bull had such a formidable army. They are no longer the cowpack but cowhorde!

Ya, I helped. Thanks for the credit Pep. :)

I had a lot of fun working together with Pep. Yes a very long project to do, especially when you put it off for a few months and more. One reason it took so long to shoot the battle scenes was because we intended to repose the figures over a dozen times, but we stopped before it became a big chore. We tried to get the best shots.

My favorite part that I built was the the Bulls' tents and the outside market shops. Now enough about me this was more of Pep's project. I liked his whole layout planning, his spider faction design, skeleton harpy, skeleton horses (which were based on existing designs), church roof, and a majority of the interior layout.

I'm fond of the undead giant snail which I made. It's mythology or biology of the skeleton snail is that it spits acid on it's victims and then consumes them in it's stomach which magically makes them the living dead and regurgitates them to increase the undead army. Upon reflection of the shell I would have changed the colors and some of the design so it looks more like a snail's shell than a football helmet.

Go attackers! Go!

Many of those bulls are wearing hunchback torsos, so it gives the impression of a larger force. That said, we do have quite a few actual Bull torsos on that battlefield. :)

In my Legofiction, I consider the Bulls to be good on the attack and good with siege equipment. Their society is semi-mediterranean in nature with constantly feuding city states. A force to be reckoned with if they could agree on a single leader.

Contrarily, the Falcons are bow savvy, good on the defense, and better than average on horseback.

The Skeleton Armies pose as a natural threat to the Falcons because bows aren't very good at stopping animated bones.

The Forestmen and their nature lore are a great counter to the skeleton armies.

The Eagles are like the Falcons, but they focus more on cavalry.

The Spiders are a female oriented faction, with a token male leader thrown in for fun. I should have more photos of all the factions online soon. :)

I'm amazed... the castle itself is very impressive, but the amount of figs and action is simply fantastic. And an exciting story, too!

My favourites: the Forestmen army, the tents in the Bulls' camp, the rooftop decorations on the church, and the landscaping.

I've been browsing this gallery for half an hour now. Thank you, you made my day!

I think that pretty much sums up my feelings exactly. Amazing detail - great battle sequence (realistic too), wonderful feeling of "life" in the MOC.

I love the landscaping too - the water to mud to grass is great, as is the vegetation.

The sappers area is cool too.

Wonderful wonderful stuff... I think I may review these pics over and over.

Just a great MOC.

The number of minifigures, the terrain, the castle, the wood. And also the quality of photos!

And the skeleton arpy!

Really all my congrats. And i hope that one day I'll be able to do something like that!

Very nice! An epic scale! I like the confusion and torrent of figs. The various heights are also really well laid out. I'm not a fan of white battlements, but that is just a personal bias, so all round great work!

God Bless,

Nathan

Great castle! And I like how you did not use all exclusive Falcons, or Forestmen torsos for each faction, but mixed them and had the colors compliment each other.

Your giant undead snail is a hoot! Good job!

Excellent!

You really have a talent for mixing pieces from different sets to make a really evil-looking army! I never thought of mixing Danju up to make an undead night, but the look is great.

Also, the use of headpieces and the viking shields all comes together perfectly! This is quite inspiring - seems like a sort of wasteland/desert plains army - very cool feel to it.
