my fourth entry, this one for the farm category: a lowly serf plows the field closest to his humble stone house

brickshelf folder: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=286160

had to buy some extra flower stems off ebay to finish up this one

The farm house isnt doing it for me. But i really like your 'horse/land-working-tool' thing. :) Also a very nice detail to make the land brown where he went through and tan on the place where hasnt been yet! I really dig that!

I agree - that is quite cool and a good use of the ax piece. I like the detail in this MOC quite a bit - the farm and the interior of the house is all well done. The tree is well built and well placed, although it's lack of leaves is a bit contrasting to the abundant feeling you get from seeing all the crops.

I think perhaps this could use a bit more landscaping in the corner diagonally opposite to the tree, but perhaps not - either way, I think you've done some good building here - nice detail for a simple scene.

That's pretty nice. The light green roof is pleasant, and the hexagonal well is nice.

Very nice, I like that roof :) and as said before, the plow is quite inventively made.

That's a nice well. I'm going to have to steal that design.

I like the plow design too, though I might consider bulking it up just the tiniest bit more. It looks a little too fragile right now.

unfortunately, i don't have those pieces most people use for leaves on the trees (i think i have one or two) so i had to go with the dead-ish tree design, but i thought the brown in the corner like that stood out opposite the green at the other side

This is a very simple but effective MOC. I like the uniformity of the crop, and the horse/cart is a nice touch. Keep up the good work!

Like others have said the plow piece is very creative. I like the color you chose for the house roof.

Great MOC! It's good to see some non-military Castle MOCs.

Oh and I think you might do better with LEGO parts acquisition through BrickLink.com than eBay.

Well, in case you haven't heard yet: brilliant design on the plow. I love the garden as well.

The inside of the house looks a bit bare, but then again it belongs to a peasant. Alternately, maybe that is the problem I have with the interior - maybe it looks a little too clean for a peasant's house?

when i need something specific as far as lego goes, i check multiple sources and this time ebay got me a cheaper batch of stems

of course, when i needed capes recently, neither one had any too cheap

Try this store:
http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=christo7108

They are custom capes, but are identical to the real thing - it could be he is one of the outside sources for the real thing.

I really like this MOC. Some good details are the tree, and the fence, which is very similar to one in my unfinished farm MOC. Also, I like that the level of the house floor is lower than the ground. It looks very nice. One thing that doesn't make sense though, is that he is plowing, which is done in early spring, and yet right beside him vegitables are already growing, which happens months later. Overall, pretty good, though. Good luck in the contest!
