young peasant lady...
Hello. This is my first non-purist moc posted here. The moc is of a young peasant lady standing by a well. If you look closely you can see that I made a smaller than normal torso for the lady. I did not cut or bend any parts with the moc, I just used black electrical tape to hold the arms in. Thank you, and please tell me what you think...

Hey Bosses. This is a really good concept for a skirted torso.
I usually try not to nitpick, but I think this character would benifit from a more feminine face.
Perhaps a simple classic smiley or anything. the Jayko head just seems out of place.
The skirt and body is a great size for a young girl when compared to a regular minifig though. Nice work.

Actually, that is one of the new castle double-faces. I like to include certain minifigs in certain scenes, and I find the shocked side of the face to be very cool and useful. here is a pic of the figure with a more feminine face...
I like both versions, but I see what you mean about the previous face not looking feminine enough. Thanks, and please tell me what you think...

Yes! That looks excellent! Although there was nothing wrong with the original per-say, this 2nd one is a good character for any castley place.

Personally, I think the waist looks un-realistically small, but I commend you for such a clever design.

Following on what Prince Imdol said, the 1x1 stud as a waist is too much. How does it look without it?

Here is the peasant lady, with the 1x1 round stud removed...
I prefer this version to the original...

Here is a bride minifig. I used the same technique for the bride as I did for the peasant lady, with a few part changes...

I like this one better, but I like the regular peasant lady better.

I like this one more. But it still looks kind of weird, the head is as wide as the torso on both, which I don't like.boses wrote:Here is a bride minifig. I used the same technique for the bride as I did for the peasant lady, with a few part changes...

I like to have as many options as possible when making a minifig, and I like the scale of this smaller figure...
Thanks...

I like the bride fig much better than the other, but the torso to head ratio just looks off.

Although the size comparison is "off," we have to look at other "kid" figures lego has produced. They're off because their torso is too big. I actually like the figure with the 1x1 plate round in it; it looks like a corset. However, the bride figure is much better, but still, there must be a solution to make the torso a little bigger. maybe a modified normal torso with a slight arch to make it fit on the dress. But that would be a lot of work, and I don't think it would look all that great. I kinda like the look as is. Nice job.

Dang, those medieval corsets were tight!
I like the look very much, and while some may complain that the head is too large compared to the body, I knew plenty of young adults in my youth who's only limitation on where they could go is whether or not their head fit through. I certainly wouldn't use the technique for all females, but it really does add another good option to the entire catalog of choices.
