Ok, I found a design for the French-style shakos. I used it to make this Prussian line infantryman (late Napoleonic Wars):



the black piece is the longcoat wich was rolled up and hung over the chest.

those look good when they have cosumes on the only problim is they don't work with other minifigs. to tall.

well, they aren't supposed to work with other minifigs as these replace them for more accurate versions.

There were a lot of different helmet types, but this fur cap was also used.

I love the headgear you've come up with. The use of various minifig hair pieces is amazing.

Plus of course the leg design=genius! I prefer the official minifig legs for the most part, but this is a fantastic way to make figs that are taller or shorter than the average, so thanks for the idea! I've actually come up with some rather unusual leg designs off of it (spider-ish legs, snake tail, tentacles). It's an awesome technique!

It's really interesting what you can do with hair if you turn it around...

And before anyone else uses it:
If you use the Hermione hair backwards (putting some 1*1 plates under it), you have the bearskin hat of Grenadiers. (I'll post a pic, but I need a black piece for it though...)
