What is the technological level of your castle building?

I was wondering what you use as the limits of technology in your building...Personally, I use gunpowder and magic, as well as airships and mechanical mining machines...I do not use anything too sci-fi, though, no aliens or laser guns...My dwarves and elves are pretty advanced in some areas...So, what is your tech-level, and why?

There's fire and the wheel, and that's about it :P

Okay seriously, there's also some limited use of metal forging and extensive use of stone. Nothing that would need electricity or advanced techniques to work.

Really, it depends what I'm portraying. In terms of technology, a MoC of the battle of Hastings, for instance, would be basic at best, whereas a MoC of a siege workshop would be quite advanced.

This thread makes me want to build a moc with stormtroopers, well, storming the walls.

I treat my Legoverse as an RPG, Wizard come up with new magic, wepons are made stronger. Weapons can be enchanted. Gun pwder is there but only for smoke purposes. Cannons will come some day.

I like magic... but no advanced machinery, and definately no gunpowder! Gunpowder led historically the end of building Castles used as a defensive structure. I cringe when I look at the troll battlewheel on my lego table. I think I will turn it into a watermill for one of my towns. I hate Warhammer and their stupid gyrocopters and such...

The nice thing is you can make anything out of lego that you want and don't have to buy or include anything you don't want...

My Medieval Era stuff is all pre-gunpowder with the exception of the Chinese.

When it comes to Castles and my LEGO universe, absolutely NO gunpowder, canons, etc. Some countries/factions may be relatively more advanced than another but thats do to culture and political makeup.

I just use iron weapons and armor along with 1 to 5 cannons or more advanced nations and a few pirates. I'm OK with magic but not crazy about it.

I tend to loosely stick to pre-gunpowder. I say loosely, because, I may build other MOCs that are more appropriate to a later period. But guns are dead out.

Late medieval - there's gunpowder, but no magic, or fantasy elements.

Standard architecture is suplimented by Wizardry and technology (in a Steampunk-ish sort of way). I'm open to most anything that flits my fancy. If I am sticking to a limited historical theme that is sort of real, then I'll forgo all the fantasy for realism.

Up to 1350 European. Transitional armour period and NO gunpowder (not in my world at least). Most of my troops have earlier armour, maille hauberk or habergeon covered with a surcoat. Some have the obvious scale armour. My style of castles are not historically scrutinized but I try to make them more historically believable than not.
