Two possible sets

Post by Bruce N H »

Hey,

Surfing around Brickshelf, I see two interesting new sets (or alleged new sets). This one looks real to me:

Image
5618, Troll Warrior

This one, while it would be exciting, feels like a fake to me:

Image
7365, Hercules

Could one of our local Ambassadors confirm/deny these sets?

Hello!

The Troll set 5618 is in the regular catalogue (that's where the scan is from). It's announced for June. The picture is preliminary though. The actual set might be somewhat different from what we see in that picture.

I think I've encountered the Hercules one before, so its not something that's new from Toyfair. It also looks pretty fake to me.

6 minifigures is too many for a set that size. There is no indication that any new pieces are included. No new faces either. I can't see them re-using Fluffy either, what with the new style Dragons, Viking Monsters and Aquaraiders Creatures. Plus the black plate looks dusty. And, though its hard to tell, the browns look like old brown.

I just hope that LEGO doesn't limit the distribution of the Orc(troll) impulse set to just europe like the Wizard impulse set.

The Wizard is Europe only? When did this news break? Is it confirmed? Will it be at the Lego stores? If so, how many should I buy to resell?

No, it isn’t, be at ease.

(In general a set is more likely to be US only than EU only.)

That Hercules one surfaced many months ago, but it was found to be fake for several reasons. (Old brown parts, old skellie, ect)
