Lion Knights & Black Falcons...allies?

Gentlemen (and women, I'm not picky), I'm usually one to think the Lion Knights and the Black Falcons are enemies (6062, for example, implies this). But, I got directed to this picture:

Allies!? Even if it's only a temporary alliance, it's still an interesting thought (and AWESOME, look at all of the little buggers!

)
(sorry, for those who can't find them, there's a few BF's on the right tower)

Maybe they are making a truce to deal with a new threat: The Forestmen?

Hehe, looking at it again, you can see the cavalry bumming around in the background too.
"Hey, do you hear something on the other side of the wall?"
"Huh?"
"That sound of 1,000 twanging bows and arrows..."
"Hrm. Should we do something?"
"Nah."

On a more on-topic note, take a look at the main tower. See that one forestman climbing really akwardly. Notice that he's suspended on a rope/string (were those ever released in castle sets?), and that the rope is held by an odd cream coloured harpoon piece. Any info on if it was released? If so, when?
Also of note: to the left of the main tower is a hilarious sight: A peasant apparently attempting to fight a BF (or they could be talking...but that's less fun). This is actually quite interesting, was a BF-themed peasant ever released?
And to FURTHER add to the confusion, look at the base of the main tower, across the river. Is that a BF standing there? Right next to the guys they're...y'know...fighting?
Whoops, going off topic here. I'll quit while I'm ahead.

Wait the picture shows that Black Falcons & Black Knights under attack from the Forestmen. Where are the Lion Knights (Crusaders)?

Good lord, it must be too early in the morning. I saw the title and the body of your post and read "aliens" both times. That did not make a lot of sense.

Thanks for the thread. I haven't seen that picture in a while, but do remember it fondly. At the time that came out it was a bit confusing as my forestmen weren't really that aggressive. I then revised my thinking on them(forestmen) and made them more war-like. Kind of on the lines of "Don't tick them off unless you want something like this picture back at you" type thing.

The spear really stands out to me, because it's the size of a harpoon piece (note that it's only about his height, spears are taller than minifigs), and I've only ever seen them released in chrome.
And I just thought the peasant was funny.

Actually, that "BF" standing in the midst of the forestmen definetely looks more like a peasant. That explains the rather aggresive peasant, and the peasant with the forestmen.
That's one more alliance in the picture!
Maybe I should have called this thread "Forestmen and Peasants...allies?"

It is a brown spear at a slight angle. It looks like a odd color because light is reflecting off of it.

Yeah, that's probably correct.
Well, I'm out of interesting things for the pictue.
Other than that the LK and BF's apparently have taken residence in what I believe is a Black knight fortress.

I've got two things to say:
(1) Not this discussion again...
(2) I love these old advertisements. Lego needs to make more like them. I'd love to have poster size and quality ones of these to decorate my Lego room.
