I saw this on Brickshelf and I've been itchin' to comment on it. I really like it, Aaron, just like all your other creations. The dwarf steam mecha is great! The rock face and stonework around the gate is cool. Somethings I don't like are how the flames coming out of the necromancers hand are perfectly symmetrical on both sides. One question though; whats with the blonde orc on the cliff?

EDIT: Oops, I forgot to wish you luck in the contest, this is some serious competition for me!

Insert proper oohs and aahs - like watching fireworks.

I feel all warm and fuzzy now, but sad I am unable to build at the moment.

There are many seriously clever elements, but I would have to say the work on the 'door frame' would have to be my favourite.

Copying what I said on Flickr:

Dope! And here I was hoping you were caught up with something and wouldn't find time to enter...

This is just beautiful! The chipping is great alone, and everything else is just too precise and amazing.

Trying to find something I don't like too much, I would have to say that the transition from the cliff to the grass up top seems too sudden. Maybe making it slope back a little gentler at the top would help, but I'm not sure.

Even so, this MOC is absolutely amazing, and I wish you the best of luck in the contest!

That massive doorframe work is ismply incredible. I like the little caverns and platforms at the sides, and the harpies are cleverly made. I'm not so sure how much I like the idea of a dwarf-mech, but it's still awesome. I think the rock face could do with a bit more variation on the sides; it looks kind of unnatural to have the rock go up so steeply.

Overall, a beautifull piece of work. The scary thing is that I'm becoming conditioned to the awesomeness that simply spews from you MOCs. Stop spewing awesomeness, dangit!

I saw this on The Brothers Brick earlier, and my first reaction was:  Wow...when you said you were going to use your dwarfmech as part of an entry, I didn't think it'd be so big! Well built, with many ingenious innovations. Although, I do think a little more action would have been better . Other than that, I'm inclined to agree with HeartOfDarkness:

You da man! Fantastic job on that cliff face. It's hard to pull off an extreme vertical rock formation and make it look right but you aced it. I love the carved out of rock entrance. Very Dwarvish. Another fine work for your amazing portfolio of castle stuff.

I love the mine you have created! For once in the trolls life he has been given pause to think.... he may have forgotten what it was though until the huge warmachine takes another step forward...

Very nice MOC!

That's probably something of the coolest you've ever built, Aaron! The Dwarf mecha is simply wonderful, and as HeartOfDarkness said, the doorframe is incredible.

Good luck in the contest! ;)

Thanks verily for the comments, all.

I did want to break up the green at the top the MOC but ran into an issue with brick availability... Next time for sure! But I really want to move into using dark bley for landscaping, but have yet to amass enough bricks to do something of this scale.

The blonde Troll lady actually lives in that cave that she's defending, next door to the Dwarfs. She gets along with them by cooking meals, cleaning up & sowing (she's an extremely smart troll). I also wanted to add a comical explanation for the difference of the two types of trolls - they represent members of different sexes! ...or maybe not... maybe that's what female dwarfs actually look like - eeewww!

I am glad it has been so well recieved. After staring at it for the last 3 weeks it has lost alot of it's epic feel for me, I'm glad it delivered.

Thanks again :)

Very nice entry dude. I just think the rock faces are a bit too plain compared to the detail in the rest of it. A mix of light and dark bley/gray would have looked nice here I think.
That's just a minor nitpick though, it's still an awesome MOC. I love the dwarf mech and the mine entrance and all the little things all around that just make it complete. Great job :)

Awesomeness yet again. As others mentioned, I like the cliff face and the huge doors. I also like the idea of having the evil wizard riding on the back of the troll. The small little detail of using dish pieces at the hands for the wizard's magical fire is cool too. Those little winged creatures are neat too. It looks like they have some poison tipped barb at the end of their tail. I hope you're a fan of elves too, because I can't wait to see what you'll do with them.

DARkspawn once again producing great work. I'm impressed by your lego collection size and your great ideas.

The whole action has the feeling these skellies have no idea whats in store for them, while dwarves sneak out the smaller caves to ambush the foulish enemy. I love the bat-ling/demon kite creatures. I'll have to borrow that idea.
Your wood work looks great. However, I wished you used support beams from the ground for the tracks instead of wood support coming out of the rock or add additional support with diagnol beams that come out of the cliff. Superb rock sculpting, especially on the door and cave entryways.
At first glance the shield on the tower reminded me of the batman logo.
My favorite parts would have to be the huge doors and the dwarf mech, reminds me of Warhammer creations.
Excellent job! :P
