Today I entered chat and had this conversation with "alien" who had the member code #004400.

Dr._J: Hello.
alien: dr jota?
alien: jumento?
Dr._J: Jordan.
alien: jegue?
alien: ah tá
alien: Jordan
alien: hello
Dr._J: Heya.
alien: how are you Jordan?
Dr._J: Good. You?
alien: Im Fine tks
alien: Where do you from guy?
Dr._J: USA.
alien: Do you to lie?
Dr._J: Do you have an aount on Classic-castle?
Dr._J: *account
alien: please send a e mail to alien10@vicosadoceara.com
alien: send me?
Dr._J: I've gotta go.
alien: please stay here


Needless to say, I jetted out of there fast.
Is it common to get these kinds of weirdos on chat?

I do not usually do chats anywhere but that just seems strange. Maybe you should PM a Admin member because that is just freaky-weird. According to the memberlist here there is no one named alien but aliencat and I am sure it is not aliencat chatting like that.

Aliencat does some strange stuff every now and then .

Since you get your CC and Chat accounts differently, someone just signed up to the chat and messed around. Nothing to worry about.

Heh, I thought of him, but I thought "Noo, Aliencat spells better."

Edit: BTW, "alien" is apparently still online there.

There are some Brazilians who squat in chat from time to time. Not sure how they found the chat as they are not CCers or even LEGO fans. Friendly enough, but I'm not thrilled about it. I'm not in there enough to police it.

Has moving chat to IRC been considered? I think it would result in more options and more chatting.

I never find anyone in chat. Just finding that Alien guy would be a miracle for me . The conversation was weird,

That was the part that freaked me out. Why does he want you (or anyone) to email him? Sounds fishy .

Hmm, well, I guess it doesn't freak me out now that I know who they are. I suppose the culture is different than what we're used to, and so it seems weird.
But still, the chat is for fans of LEGO Castle to get to know each other, not making random friends over the internet.

You can still send me an e-mail though if you feel like it.

This, IMO, would be a good idea. At this point in time I run on MAC OS, and none of my browsers support the chat currently implemented, but everyone can use IRC easily. I wouldn't worry too much about this "alien", the mighty walls of the classic castle will protect you from UFO attacks
