How Many Dwarves Do You All Have?

Post by legobear »

I'm posting this to track a trend in Lego's marketing scheme. I know a lot of people have a significant number of Crown Knights, Skeletons, and for those up to beat Orcs. As a prominent member has stated, we've been teased with Dwarves for 9 months!!! In regards to that, how many dwarves do you guys have in your collection?

My Collection: 0 (I'm waiting for battlepacks and bricklink is too expensive)
Planning to get: 24

I'm desperate for some dwarves but I'm trying to learn patience. How are you all dealing with your patience? It's difficult to get them in hoards, even with the mine defender (1 dwarf for $10) and the Dwarves' Mine ($60 for 4). I'm having a horrible time waiting.

At the time of this post, I have eleven.

2x Dwarves Mine
2x Dwarves Mine Defender
1x Troll Warship.

My biggest gripe is the prevalency of red beards. I much prefer the black / brown ones, and am holding out for a blonde in the near future.

I'm planning to get 2x of the 2008 Chess sets, so that'll take me to twenty-seven dwarves, provided they don't release any more sets with Dwarves in them before then.

I have currently one mine, that is 4 dwarves. I like the brown bearded best. I like the fact that they all are different, which gives them different personalities (the round brown helmet is nicest imho). I think i have to wait for some time before buying more lego ...
One way to practice patience is not to compare your collection to others', because then you will always have too little Lego. Even with a tiny collection of Lego, you can build close to infinite creations limited only by your imagination. When i see these fantastic MOCs here at CC, i always feel like, man if I just had more of those pieces. But I will try to do the best with my current collection and then rejoice when i get some new parts/sets.
Another thing might be to prioritize, i prefer Dwarves to Crownies, therefore i bought the Mine instead of any other set from this year.

I have 4, from Drarf's Mine. I hope to acquire many more before the summer is over, however...

I'm holding 38 Dwarf minifigures right now. I'm actually surprised how few 2008 sets actually have Dwarves. The Mine is the best set to stock up on for parts and Dwarves, but it's a costly way to get brown and black beards, shields and the wingless helms.

5. 4 from the mine and 1 from the Special Edition Castle.

Plus I've made a bunch using shorty legs from other sets.

Oh, well if you want to add in all minifig troops matched to short legs then I'd go as far as 200 Dwarves, but only 38 of mine would be the Longbeards armed with heavy mattocks.

I've made a few using other parts, too. What's the Special Edition Castle, though?

You can collect them all summer- i'm hoping to make it something more like a year or two of collecting them.

Same goes for all the currect factions though- i'm hoping to amass quite large colelctions while we've still al got the chance.

For how long do you think they will be around?
