Newcomer to Classic Castle (not the website but the era)

Hello, CC!

While I am not an expert at determining the value of Classic Castle LEGO sets, I know that there are many in the community that are. I have just stumbled upon an offer of set #6090 and #6032, with all pieces and instructions for $60. Since 6090 is going on bricklink for $90 with missing pieces I thought this might be a reasonable deal.

And for those pirate lovers, set #'s 6296 6254 1729 6250 6264 6244 6249 6263 are being offered to me for $125. On bricklink these sets are going for 40, 12, 90, 60, 20, 12, 40, and 40 dollars, respectively, for a total of over $250. This seems like an even better deal!

Any thoughts?

To me that seems like a very good deal. However, it completely depends on what you yourself are willing to pay for the sets.

I would do it, personally, but I do not be the one to tip your scales one way or the other.

Both of those seem like very good deals. Are you able to look the sets over? You might want to do that to verify completeness and such. But if the sets are complete, or even close, then this is a good deal.

depends entirely on the condition of the parts, instructions and boxes. i have bought some classic sets in pristine condition which i have been able to resell at about 3-4x the value. but i have also been stuck with sets that are in such poor condition that i couldn't recover 1/3 of what i paid.

bricklink is a good start to assess value. but ultimately it depends the condition. also you need to take note that some BL quote prices in EUR (eg 1:1 or 1:1.3) not USD, meaning the actual price is probably higher. don't rely on remaining sets too much. some times the BL sellers list ridiculous prices. i much rather rely on recent sales but bear in mind the possibility that recent sales were in EUR not USD.

They say that they are in display-only condition and complete. I think I'll go ahead and make the plunge, thanks guys!

I would. If not post it. Someone here will take it.

Display only condition sounds pretty good.
