Hello. I met Ben at BrickWorld this year and he expressed an interest in my steampunk ship and he was nice enough to post a great creation of his over on Eurobricks, so I thought I'd join up and share my creations with everyone on Classic-Castle.

The ship is part of a comic I write on my website, so the characters you see on the ship are EB-members and characters from my comic:

Sweet. You did as awesome job of blending the ship hull into the rest of the ship. I also love how thedragon head and star wars window are out of place but don't look like it.

Very detailed. I love it!

I myself have never been able to pull off a well built LEGO ship, so I am always extremely impressed to see a creation such as this. Blows my mind in a way really.

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention the shape of the ship itself was inspired by Columbus's Santa Maria and the overall steampunk feel was inspired by Zackmoe's Radiant Kestral, one of my favorite ships and builders...

I really love steampunk stuff and this is really impressive!! Great job and I like the boilers/engines among everything else =P Nice details.

Hey, this is The Brutal right? I was against you in the Best Space Craft competition, with my LX2 Support Frigate. This is a great ship man! You really deserved to be nominated, along with Nick D's stuff and Kyle's Kitsune!

I love the overall form of your ship. It is rare to see the entire hull of a galleon built below the waterline. Even though I am not a huge Steam Punk fan, I really appreciate a well built moc like this. It is even more impressive in person.

You won! I voted for you. You weren't there to claim your prize, though. I tried to get it for you, but they tazered me. Then they ignored my screams of "I was robbed!" And yes, for the event I did name it The Brutal.

But CopMike and I won best vig for the Fabuland Star Wars Final Duel display. So, I guess I'm not too upset at losing to you. Your ship was freakin' awesome anyway! Congratulations.

Thanks Ben! It's greatly appreciated. We all went out to Dinner after the first public day and Ben was sitting next to me and started talking about the cool steampunk ship. I felt so cool, but I didn't tell him it was mine until someone else pointed that out. BrickWorld was a blast, though and I'm glad to have met Ben and the Prince here and tons of other LEGO Fans from around the country...and world.

Once again, I love it.

I'd asked over at EB but I think the question got overlooked– are you using an old brown hull piece paired with new red-brown bricks, or are they all old-brown?

I really don't understand steampunk but this is beautiful and it's huge! It's so amazing, I am speechless. I think I'll just stare at it some more.

Sorry, Morgan. Yes, it's all classic brown. I used frown for some of the headlight bricks and technic pin-hole bricks, but the rest is pure good brown.

I loved the few brickworld photos I saw of this beauty and am very glad to have a full gallery now. You don't happen to have any higher-resolution shots do you?

I love it. It's big, without being oversized; it's clean without losing the LEGO style, and it simply looks like a ship plucked from the water and given two huge engines for lift.

This is a beautiful ship, Hinckley.

I like the use of the hulls for the bottom of the ship. The rear stern walk is very well executed, as is the rudder. The use of the large round pieces on the stern quarterdeck is also nice.

The figurehead adds a touch of colour, as does the figure with the green hair.

The sails and rigging are a bit oversized, though. Have you thought of using black embroidery floss for your rigging? That's what I use. (It comes in other colours too). As well, try cutting your sails from thinner fabric. You can find both at a fabric store, or in the fabric/crafts department of a large store such as Walmart.

Overall, though, I really like it!
