I bought a bunch of 12V train stuff off of Craigslist a while back, and in the mix were three of these pieces, but in old light grey:

That gave me the idea to re-make the Twin-Winged Spoiler (6828) in the style of classic space. There are a couple of pieces that are not right because I am waiting for a Bricklink order to come in, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

The original Twin-Winged Spoiler is on the right, and my CS-themed redesign is on the left.

Here is the Brickshelf folder, which as I type this is not yet public:

I really like the classic space one. It almost looks like that was the original not the Futuron one. I wish I had some classic space guys. I do however have 2 futuron and 4 blacktron figs that I got from a garage sale.

Ahh, a childhood favorite– I have fond memories of taking this particular Futuron guy to the beach and freaking out one time when I thought he'd gotten lost.

I'm always a fan of color variation MOCs and your CS version looks perfect. For a minute there, though, I read the title as a "Classic Castle variant"... Now that would be intriguing to see how it translates. ;)

I like your version, brings back some memories seeing the set on the right. I was so into Space at that time. Your version I would buy.

I have a few classic space. Never my main interest but I had built all sorts of space towns, colonies and vessels. It was lots of fun.

I did not have that set but remember it well. They look like a fine representation of the original.

My first space set, my one and only Futuron set, much beloved (and, I believe, still complete in my collection). Oh glory, the days of classic space....

Same here! Though I may have picked up another Futuron set or two since in some bulk purchases.

It's funny, since I had my camera out this weekend I snapped and posted this the same day you posted yours.
