So the scoop on pirates is?

Post by timber_wolf899 »

Thanks to OR we know the pirate line is returning.

I wonder if any of you 'in the know' from last weekend would care to share what the designers had to say?

They didn't say anything really. Mostly, they just outed the theme and said it's coming in January. That's all I remember, I think.

Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

Trevor's correct.

The designers were the first to publicly confirm LEGO Pirates in 2009, and during the "beauty pageant" they showcased at least two specific figs from the theme, including "The Governor's Daughter" and "The Mermaid."

I don't have anything else really to add, but I was sitting next to Andrew during the pagent, and he is absolutly correct. In fact we looked at each other and said "That's the first public confirmation of Pirates!"

So, yeah, they're coming.

I'm going to say negative. Not sure I can say much else.

Much else.

The Mermaid is for the front of the ship, but I won't say much else or i'll probably get blocked.

i saw some 2009 catalog scans on bricklink and pirates didn`t get much change in compare to there past brothers - still two fractions, new minifigs look cool, they have more details than past ones (new bodies, new faces), and plumps are back!

I totally did the same thing with Tom when were standing in the back during the Keynote.

Quite excited. I want more ships.

Mermaid?! Cool. I've been needing a mermaid for quite some time.
Governor's daughter? Don't know about that one... do we really need a Governor's daughter? Errr, "I invoke the right of Parlay" and all that?
Oh well, I guess girl Lego is OK either way. :)

Basically what everyone else from BrickCon said. No real specifics, save the figs, but confirmation nonetheless.

Yes. Yes we need a governor's daughter and governor and.....I suppose I could go on. It's not like the POTC movie invented a Caribbean Governorship. It's good, TLG let's have some Pirate townspeople too!
