Catacombs Clone!

Post by Stone Goblin »

I was contacted a while ago on MOCpages about my 'The Church and the Catacombs' moc ( http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/47756 ). Jeff Bentley is his name, and he was interested in how I built the scene and wanted to make his own version. So I provided some photos and he quickly built it. I'm told he had to make several Bricklink orders to get the parts to finish it. I don't know if he's a member of any other communities, but if you know, let me know! He calls his 'The Church of the Beholder'. Enjoy!

I think he did a great job. In many ways faithful to the original. The only critiques I have are basically applicable to my work as well, such as adding more detail around the windows and walls.

Why would you let him ruin a masterpiece?
Great work on the church. :D
The stairwell and stained glass window are truely great designs of yours.

I like both versions, it would have been cool to have a beholder floating over the alter, but its nice as is. Great praise for both versions.

Wow,

If I'd just seen this on MOCpages first I would have written a nasty note in the comments saying the person was stealing images. He really made a faithful copy, even with the placement of figs. Of course looking at details I see the places he changed it up.

SG, in regards to your original model, who are the guys up in the balcony that seem so angry?

Also, that's an amazing MOC. I may have not yet been a CC member when you initially created it so I don't believe that I have seen it before.
