Sooo i'll be the first to post a CCCVI entry here on forum. I believe its ok to do so, since its past november the first.

So here is my first entry, its for the misc category.

The Perfect Life?

A rich family lives in a large manor near a lake. Their life is just about perfect. The man of the house is fishing with his father on a boat, trying to catch some nice dinner. On the dock are two workers doing their daily things. The children are happily playing around the house. The little girl is talking with a frog hoping it to be a beautiful prince, while the boys are trying to catch butterflies. The mother watches over them while cleaning the path a bit. She’s dreaming away with happy thoughts. Isn’t life just perfect? But what they don’t know is that their lives are about to change….Death is coming to claim a life! The invisible dark man is slowly moving towards its victim…Who’s going to die? The old man? One of the kids? Or will it be ‘just’ the cat?

I won't comment on the MOC until after the contest is over, but I wanted to congratulate you on posting the very first entry. It looks like this is going to be a great contest!

It's good to see the contest kick off on such an incredibly high note. People are really going to have to work for their prizes this year. I just hope you don't scare away too many timid newcomers.

I am kidding, but seriously, this is one great entry. The landscaping and integration of "man-built" areas is brilliant. I love the walkway down to the dock, and your posing is fantastic.

If this is the first, I can't wait to see what others (and maybe even myself) come up with!

Superb. I love that 'retaining wall'. And of course, the house is just great.

This is absolutely fantastic. Tons of cool details and building techniques, everything looks perfect! Amazing work!

"Harrumph!" Let me beginn:

- I don't like the sloped rocks. It don't have the set-feeling (this is my opinion, don't mentionedthe first time)
- Where are the little waves at the cliff?
- You've SNOTed the water, but why are the endings studs up with tiles?
- The door at the little hut I think would be better if it is an angular one

Why I am so negative ? I think you build good enough to take my criticism and the mainthing: If I would do adulation, it would take to much time to refer all the very fine details and the great shape of this MOC. The needed quality to beat this entry is a challenge for every committed builder. Go so on, Tom!

- Thats fine. I personally really like the looks of sloped rocks so i guess i will stick to that for now.
- Hmm, waves at the cliffs...an interesting suggestion and i will keep that in mind for future builds. Have to think about how to implement them though. Maybe with blue cheese slopes....but maybe that will make the water look 'unnatural' shaped...Oh well. I dont mind this MOC being without waves.
- About the tile thing. I made the snot water plate ontop of some normal baseplates. And i attached the snot water at the top and bottom with some of these: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=4070
I know i could go without the normal baseplates underneath my moc, but i just like building on baseplates ... But maybe i could attach the snot water to the baseplates in a different way in the future.. perhaps using these two together:

But then again I dont mind the little tiled sides though, haha
- About the door. I tried a retangle door. But i only have a black one and i thought it didn't look good in black. So i choose to go for this door because of its color. Also i think this door adds to the 'not in so good shape' look of the little shack.
Anyway this is not to bite back or anything. Its just some explanations and opinions on your critique points. Thx again for taking the time to have a detailed look.

Anyway, if you haven't guessed, your MOC is superb, I'm impressed. Oh yeah, and the reaper is definitely coming for one of the cute li'l children.
