Here's the brickshelf folder containing detail photos.

And here's a shot of the visiting messenger:

Amazing AC.... This has got to win something in this cathegory!

I especially love the star shape, I have never seen that in a moc before.
The trebuchet is also very nice, and the custom knight templates are amazingly real!

As said on msn this is one brilliant moc. The really cool shape is what makes this moc shine. But the details you put in this creation are awesome as well! Also the trebuchet looks great and imposing!

In short: Awesome work man! :)

You're da man, Seb :D

Lovely overall impression with the shape and mottling (achieved by both differeing colours and tiles, I like that) and nice detailing as well, especially as regards to the chapel.

I'm pretty curious on the unwelcome news though.. ;)

Very classic look to it. I would say it looks more like Fort Ticonderoga than a crusader castle. Non the less, its very well done.

Great job! I love the use of new and old grey bricks to give the castle walls the "mottled" look. The overall layout and details are very creative. Awesome work!

Awesome work AC. Of course the outer star shape is a favorite of mine as well, but the interior layout is great too. You made the inside fit nicely in conjuncture with the outside shape. Another creation by you that I'd love to have in my posession. I think the unknown messangers are AC's very own faction coming to tell the crusaders that they like it so much, they intend to take it for themselves. Or it could be what I dread the most...... AC's men coming to tell the inhabitants that he plans on dismantaling it ASAP  (Why do I get the feeling I'm going to hear the dreaded 'Roger That' :P )

awesome castle, I really like that you went with a bastioned anti-cannon type of defensive work rather than classic medieval walls often seen in lego castles.

Great details and design in the various buildings in the complex as well. You did an excellent job of integrating some colored bricks into the walls too.

I think one of my favorite aspects is the old gothic chapel adjecent to the great hall/keep. You did a great job of making it look like part of a larger, older construction that was mostly renovated when the crusaders upgraded this castle. (excellent use of starwars blasters for tracery btw)

I think thats what I really like about this castle, it gives the impression that an older, medieval fortress was upgraded to defended against cannon.

Roger that chief, unfortunately I don't have the collection to keep this one intact while I build the next entry, so this one is coming apart again.

Thanks man, that's what I was going for.
Quite a sensible thing to do after the invention of gunpowder and cannons, upgrade your castle ;)

Dear Aliencat,

that is one impressive and beautyful structure!
My girlfriend said it reminds her a lot of Mont Saint Michel.

Wow, that's a real compliment! Mont Saint Michel is something that one day when I have a huge collection I wish to build :) it's like my dream MOC. Maybe in 20 years or so ;)
Thanks Teddy and Teddy's girlfriend!
