Don't get me wrong. I love the castle sets. But I've also been looking at a lot of steampunk stuff lately and it completely rocks. I'm planning on getting a few sets that I saw at Wal-Mart to start getting into steampunk. Here's what's on my list so far:

6745 Creator Propeller Power
7063 Indiana Jones Fight on the Flying Wing
7626 Indiana Jones Jungle Cutter
8958 Power Miners Granite Grinder

I noticed a few good steampunk-friendly parts on some of the Star Wars sets, too. But I'm trying to find the most bang-for-the-buck sets. You know, those that the most useable parts that fit in steampunk or castle building. Does anyone have any suggestions? They would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am very tempted to get it myself and sell the minifigs.

Hmm, I'd say it's kind of science fiction as it would be seen by someone in the Victorian era. Better to show than describe. Check out the Flickr LEGO Steampunk group.
