New Indiana Jones sets in stores <- maybe not yet
Hey all,
I assume this is new. It looks like the newest Indiana Jones sets are in stores, because dsvelte has posted extensive pictures of sets 7195, Ambush in Cairo and 7197, Venice Chase, including good clear pics of the new torsos, hair, accessories etc. I'll bet this is for a review on Eurobricks.
This is old news as we've seen preview images of these sets, but the high points for castlers from the first set are three very castle-friendly torsos, return of the ninja hood, turban, orc scimitar, tan barrel and black turban. Castle-relevant stuff from the second is mainly the fez and the new blond hair.

I hope these are out! The Ambush in Cairo set will be great for minifig accessories!
To those who are about to Lego: toss me a few bricks.

I may actually have to get this set. A new cart, ninja mask, turban, barrel (my first one if I get it), cart, and a new skin tone that could be used for Arabian soldiers to fight my army of Europeans. The torsos of the villains could certainly be a very good torso for a assassin or dark wizard.

Both sets look great. I will be buying several of the ambush in cario. Ones got to reward TLG when they produce mini-figure heavy sets. I saw the review over at Eurobricks. Good to see all the parts in them.

Is it confirmed these are actually in stores, or did that individual manage to get their hands on one via non-retail methods? I've seen a few early reviews where folks got sets from contacts within the industry.
Ah, who am I kidding? I know I'm going to swing by my TRU tomorrow anyway just to check!

Well they certainly were not out here in the south of England. I went by our local TRU yesterday and no new Indie sets.
So are the gents with the darker olive type complection standard yello or is this yet another addition to the Lego colour scheme? I could not tell from the pictures.
Some of the new items look neat!

It seems to be a new colour.Heir of Black Falcon wrote:So are the gents with the darker olive type complection standard yello or is this yet another addition to the Lego colour scheme? I could not tell from the pictures.
I've seen a few naming it as "dark flesh", but that's the name of the colour tone for the Mace Windu et al figs. This seems more of a tan variation, a "medium flesh" perhaps?

Medium flesh sounds about right, though I'm pretty sure this color was used in the big "Crystal Skull" set, the temple one. I hope they are out, I could use some of these pieces. Plus a couple new Indy torsos!

I hope the bad-guy figures' color is different from the Akator natives. I didn't like that color at all. Looked like they got into a batch of sunless tanning gel...

I think this color is lighter. I might be the actual flesh color used on the white NBA minifigs years back.Athos wrote:I hope the bad-guy figures' color is different from the Akator natives. I didn't like that color at all. Looked like they got into a batch of sunless tanning gel...

There was no word by the authors on how they obtained them, I assume it's the usual someone-knows-someone at the Czech factory.the enigma that is badger wrote:Is it confirmed these are actually in stores, or did that individual manage to get their hands on one via non-retail methods? Also, I think this is the best battle-pack type set LEGO has ever made, regardless of theme. It does make me wish they would do something like this for castle, but this set is already so castle-friendly it's hard to complain.
